BBC The One Show's Angela Scanlon reveals she is pregnant with second child

The One Show star Angela Scanlon has announced she is expecting her second child.

Taking to social media to share the happy news, Angela penned: “SO, this is happening!! I’m pregnant & apparently already prepping for actual labour.

“Baby Horgan The Second (official title) arrives next spring. Feeling very lucky & excited & also nervous about jumping on a trampoline (forever).”

Angela also shared a hilarious snap of her cradling her baby bump, looking stunning in a pastel pink shirt fringed with red at the collar, and bleached jeans.

The One Show star paired the ensemble with a pair of black Converse and wore her red hair in an artful ponytail.

She beamed open-mouthed at the camera for the sweet snaps.

Stacey Dooley echoed: “Congratulations darlin!”, while Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle said: “Congratulations!” with three red heart emojis.

“HUGE congrats lady. Fabulous news. Xxxx”, someone else penned.

Angela already has one daughter, Ruby Ellen Horgan, aged three, with her husband Roy Horgan.

The pair have been married since 2014.

Angela has been candid about her experience of motherhood from the start, and recently penned an incredibly honest post on her Instagram page to celebrate Ruby’s third birthday.

Sharing sweet snaps of her daughter, Angela wrote: “Yesterday our baby girl turned 3. I am 3 years a mother!

“I woke up feeling relieved & went to bed feeling full of love & thanks.

“3 years ago I was a shell. I had left hospital with this perfect little human & I didn’t know how to be a mother.

“I didn’t know what to do, how I should feel, I struggled to feed her, I held my breath when she cried.”

She added at the time: “I was numb for a long time & I was afraid that I might never feel anything much, that maybe I was broken or a bit defective.

“I watched other people in the ‘new born love bubble’ & longed to have that experience for both of us, instead I felt like a wild failure.”

But she admitted a lot had changed since then, as she continued: “Yesterday, 3 years on, I felt like a good mother, not because of presents or Paw Patrol chocolate coins but because I was able to fully LOVE with all of me.

“To be properly there in the moment & to celebrate her & us.

“We had cake & balloons & a Zoom call with our clans where no one could hear anyone but it was perfect!!

“I went to bed so grateful that I was supported to get to this point where I can kiss her beautiful, sweaty little head as she holds Bunny in a vice grip while wearing a helmet (him).

She went on to encourage other struggling mums to reach out for help.

Angela added: “And I want for any new Mums who are crying or lonely or afraid of their thoughts or their feelings to ask for help or talk to someone.”

“Hold on for the chocolate coins & the warm embrace. It took her 3 years to hop on that bike, I’m not sure why I expected to ‘get it’ Day 1.

“Offer yourself the same patience you offer a kid learning to ride a bike,” she advised.
