Ben Shephard branded a 'whimp' by Ranvir Singh in Strictly clash

Good Morning Britain stat Ben Shephard clashed with his co-host Ranvir Singh today after he playfully mocked her time on Strictly Come Dancing.

The tongue-in-cheek war of words came after it was announced that Ranvir’s Strictly dancing parter Giovanni Pernice would be joining them on the show.

Ribbing his co-hot about her time on the dance floor, early morning entertainment reporter Richard Arnold teased: “Well, you know how you cruised through it last year without any nerves because there was never anyone watching, no one was there…”

Hitting back, Ranvir interrupted: “There was only 11 million people watching, mind you!”

Referring to the empty studios due to Covid restrictions, Richard replied: “Yeah at home.”

Never one to miss the opportunity to tease his pal, Ben, 46, chimed in: “They said it was the easiest year ever to do it…”

Taking the bait, Ranvir quipped back: “Who said that? You?

“The one who protests he’s never gonna go on it! That person? The one who’s a wimp? Is it that one saying that?”

She continued: “I’m not going to ruin any of the magic of Strictly because you really don’t want to know the truth of what it’s like!”

Later on in the show, Ranvir let slip that bosses at Strictly Come Dancing have been “after Ben for years”.

The Tipping Point host has so far refused to take part, though hasn’t ruled it out completely.
