Britney Spears appears to hit out at dad Jamie with cryptic 'revenge' post

Britney Spears has taken to Instagram, discussing “revenge” – hours after her father, Jamie, announced he was filing to end the conservatorship against his daughter.

Jamie Spears, 69, has had legal control over pop star Britney for the past 13 years, following her public breakdown in 2008.

On Tuesday, Jamie filed paperwork in Los Angeles to end the conservatorship against his daughter, with Britney appearing to speak out just hours later.

The Toxic songstress, 39, shared a series of snaps alongside Australian rapper Iggy Azalea that showcased the pair performing on stage together.

However, it was the caption of Britney’s post that appeared to make a reference towards her father’s news following her claims that she will not perform as long as he is in control.

Writing alongside the snaps, she said: “Me and Iggy on stage.

It was so much fun working with such a strong, bada*s woman like her.”

Britney continued: “I haven’t met her new baby but if she’s reading this God bless you and thank you for all your kind words.

“Ps although the name of the song is Pretty Girls I think the concept is more like revenge of the NERDS!!”

Fans and celebrity friends of the pop songstress were quick to descend on the comment section, offering their support to Britney.

“I love both of you girls so much!! Queens,” penned Paris Hilton.

While one fan exclaimed: “You’re about to be free baby girl!”

“So happy for you, Brit, love you so much,” said a second.

Before a third added: “So excited for you babe, we’re gonna get you out of there.”

“Another victory. You’re so close to being free,” wrote a fourth.

Iggy herself took to the replies, writing: “I absolutely adore you more than words (and I still have the Barbies you gave me).

Loving you always you brilliant, too-genius-for this-world-to-understand, kind-hearted, gracious and beautifully ethereal being.

“We are definitely two big ole goofballs in the best way possible.”

Jame’s petition filed at Los Angeles Superior Court states that his daughter “is entitled to have this Court now seriously consider whether this conservatorship is no longer required”.

The filing went on to say that Britney’s circumstances have changed “to such an extent that grounds for establishment of a conservatorship may no longer exist”.

Britney has called the conservatorship “abusive” and has refused to perform while her father retains control over her, reports AOL.

In June, the singer testified that her father ruined her life and “loved” to hear her in pain while he exerted his power over her.

She alleged that the conservatorship prevented her from getting married or having her IUD removed so she could have more children.

Her newly appointed attorney, Mathew Rosengart, filed a petition to remove Jamie Spears last month and asked the court to replace him with a professional accountant.
