Many fans may remember Edele Lynch as a member of the popular girl group B*Witched, but most recently the star revealed that she’s had to find herself a ‘normal’ job to help “pay the bills” during the pandemic.
Due to the drastic impact that coronavirus has had on the music and entertainment industry, Edele says she had “to be realistic” with her regards to work due to having ”nothing on the go”.
Edele currently lives in Manchester and although she retrained as an actor she’s had to change the direction of her career to support her three children.
Whilst appearing on Virgin Media One’s Elaine Show, Edele spoke frankly about her situation and said: “Truthfully just to pay the bills, I’ve actually taken an admin job for the past year.”
The Celebrity Big Brother star continued: “We literally have nothing on the go and no support at all in our industry. I have three children and so I have to be realistic and bring some kind of pennies through the door.
“I’m an admin whizz at the minute!”
Irish band B*Witched shot to fame in the 90s, but most recently, band members Edele, Sinead O’Carroll, Lindsey Armaou and Keavy Lynch have teamed up to launch their very own podcast called Starting Over with B*Witched.
The podcast focuses on their lives as band members and how they managed to deal with the pressures of fame.
Band member Sinead spoke candidly about what inspired her and the girls to do the podcast, she said: “When the rug was pulled again for the probably, I don’t know fifth time it brought us back to years ago when we got dropped by the label just out of the blue.”
In a recent episode of Starting Over with B*Witched, Sinead spoke openly about an “angry” neighbour who threatened her with a chainsaw whilst she was in the process of moving homes in Ireland.
Sinead said: “It was a crazy time. I moved back to Ireland and I bought my first home. In fact, it was a funny story.
“The first home I bought, it was a three-bedroom house, which I absolutely loved and I wanted to dress it up to exactly how I wanted it to be.
“And just before I moved in, the neighbour who was moving in beside us – he had moved his bathroom out into my garden, so I was like ‘eh’. I had worker men coming.”
The star continued: “So I said ‘can you move the bathroom because I’ve worker men coming and I don’t want to break your bathroom suite’ and he was like ‘excuse me?’ and he got really annoyed.
“But he got so angry that he went back into the house and he came out with a chainsaw turned the bloody thing and came at me and my dad with it going absolutely mental.”
The star remembered how terrified she was with the whole ordeal and ultimately decided not to move in.
