Coronation Street spoilers have mapped out a devastating storyline for Gail Platt, with the death of her father looming in upcoming scenes.
Corrie spoilers have revealed Gail, played by Helen Worth, will receive a phone call from London, with her face falling as she listens down the line.
Growing upset, Gail breaks the news to her son Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) that her beloved father, Ted Page, has died.
It turns out that Ted’s partner, Andrew, was on the phone, and had contacted Gail to break the sad news of her father’s passing.
Distraught, Gail quickly packs her bags and leaves Weatherfield for London, travelling down south to plan her dad’s funeral in heartbreaking scenes.

It’s not known whether Ted’s death will be part of a greater storyline on the soap, but recent scenes have seen Gail trace her family history.
This week, the Corrie favourite will be delighted to realise she is distantly related to George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), the undertaker who recently moved to the area.
Ted hasn’t been seen in Weatherfield since 2010 when he gave his daughter away at her ill-fated wedding to Joe McIntyre, played by Reece Dinsdale.

Their father-daughter relationship was a rocky one – Ted was absent for the entirety of Gail’s childhood.
A sailor, he enjoyed a brief fling with Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) in the 50s, but when she turned down his proposal of marriage, he fled.
Ted had no idea Audrey was pregnant with their baby when they broke up, and she went on to raise Gail by herself.
Many years later, Ted appeared in Gail’s life, revealing he was gay and had been in a long-term relationship with a partner named James.
Months after James’ tragic death, Ted moved to Weatherfield, becoming best pals with Ken Barlow (William Roache) and getting to know his grandchildren.
Since leaving Corrie, actor Michael Byrne has gone on to appear in Casualty, and also plays Bruce Titchener in the hit radio soap opera The Archers.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
