It has been reported that EastEnders’ Adam Woodyatt has signed up for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!.
Adam Woodyatt portrays the character of Ian Beale in the popular BBC One soap opera.
The star has been apart of the soap since 1985, and is the longest serving cast member of EastEnders – having starred in over 3,000 episodes.
Currently on a hiatus from the soap, Adam will be entering the Welsh castle ruins this winter.
It has been reported that the producers of I’m A Celeb are excited that Adam has agreed to sign up for this year’s series.
A so-called insider claimed to The Sun that Adam was “a big target” for the casting team this year, as he is “certain” to be a hit with viewers.
Adam has shied away from red carpets, interviews and reality shows – keeping his distance from stardom.
The source told the publication that they think he’s a “brilliant addition” to this year’s line up.
In August 2020, fans found out that Adam was to be written out of scenes as part of an “extended break” for Ian Beale.
But in May this year, Adam dropped a bombshell that no doubt left fans concerted.
He revealed that Ian Beale’s hiatus would last until next year.
The news of Adam reportedly joining this year’s cohort of celebs, comes as The Sun claimed last week that Richard Madeley has also signed up for the 2021 series.
The 65 year old, who has been covering Piers’ place on Good Morning Britain of late, is set to follow in his son-in-law James Haskell’s footsteps.
So – could either Adam or Richard be crowned king of the castle this year? We’ll just have to wait and see.
It’s no secret though that EastEnders’ contestants are always favourites to win, with former EastEnders star Joe Swash snatching the crown in 2008 and Charlie Brooks in 2012.
Although it seems highly likely that these reports are true, last night an ITV spokesperson commented on the speculation and said: “We do not comment on speculation.”
Everything is hanging in the balance with who will be entering the castle, but there is one thing that we know for sure – we cannot wait for the new series to star in a matter of weeks.
