EastEnders stars Jessie Wallace, who plays Kat Slater and the late Dame Barbara Windsor reportedly once got into a fiery argument on the set of the soap.
TV agent Melanie Blake claimed that the two soap icons fought on set, which Barbara later admitted she regretted.
Melanie, who used to be a runner on the soap, told The Sun: “I met [Kathy Beale actress] Gillian Taylforth at Elstree when my job was basically carrying cables at Top of the Pops, and she advised me to join an extras agency
“She gave me her number, I phoned up an extras agency, and a week later I was in the Queen Vic.

“Then I saw Jessie Wallace and Barbara Windsor blow up at each other off camera in a scene like I have never seen broadcast.
“They went at it like cats. A lot of people would have run for cover, but I was like, ‘Hello showbiz’.”
Barbara spoke about her clash in 2013, telling the Mirror: “It was down to her unprofessionalism. She was young. She was always late.

“I lost my temper. I erupted. I am so sorry I did that now. It wasn’t very nice. I felt like one of the Krays.
“Afterwards, I burst into tears and ran to the producer. I said I had been terrible, an amateur, and cried again.”
Daily Star has contacted representatives for Jessie and Dame Barbara for comment.
Dame Barbara, who played iconic landlady Peggy Mitchell, passed away in December 2020 after battling Alzheimer’s.

Melanie has also recently dished the dirt on another soap star, as she revealed an unnamed Corrie star got down on his knees to beg for his job back when bosses told him he was facing the sack.
The TV agent claimed the actor “sobbed hysterically” and was eventually able to win bosses back over and have his contract extended.
She said: “There’s an actor on Coronation Street right now that literally begged a female producer.
“It was so awful that she actually ended up not firing him – and he’s still in the show to this day.
“When she called him in to fire him, he literally begged her on his knees and sobbed hysterically.”
