EastEnders star Adam Croasdell traded Queen Vic to play iconic James Bond role

James Bond is known for loving the ladies, so perhaps former EastEnders star Adam Croasdell learned all he needed to know from playing womanising Dr Al Jenkins in the hit soap.

Adam, 45, played the role of Dr Jenkins for 44 episodes back in 2009 and made quite the impact in his time on the square.

The Zimbabwean-born British actor soon had the local ladies fighting over him upon his arrival, with several of them remarking on the doctor’s good looks.

Tanya Branning accidentally spilled her coffee on him, but he didn’t seem to mind as he asked her out.

As Dr Jenkins he had the pick of the leading ladies to date, and soon added Roxy Mitchell and Chelsea Fox to his list of love affairs.

With good looks, charm, and an impressive track record with the ladies, it’s not too hard to see why his role of the philandering doctor might have convinced James Bond producers to cast Croasdell for the role.

He took up the mantel in 2010, when he was approached for the role of 007 in a video game.

Hollywood A-Lister Daniel Craig had just finished his second outing as Bond in Quantum of Solace.

Adam was the body double for Daniel, in the 2010 video game James Bond 007: Blood Stone.

The former EastEnders hunk explained: “I think video games and the making of that type of technology, being in a funny one-piece suit and being shot with 60 cameras, I think that’s sort of the future.

“Andy Serkis did it in The Hobbit, and there’s a new film Avatar which is James Cameron – it’s all that sort of motion capture. I think it’s the future, so I was fascinated to see how that would happen.

“I think in our lifetime, it is going to swing very much into the realms of computerised environments and who knows, maybe there will be more of that.”
