Emmerdale’s Liam Cavanagh (Johnny McPherson) won’t engage with new wife Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) and Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) over his daughter Leanna’s funeral arrangements.
The grieving man berates Leyla for her and Jacob’s overblown ideas, telling her he’ll be arranging things himself from now on.
He also informs his partner that he feels let down by her which understandably leaves her fuming.
Liam later tells village vicar Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) he wants a traditional, dignified and respectful funeral for Leanna and struggles to contain his anger as Jacob arrives and joins the meeting.
Liam does his best to continue regardless, but a simmering Jacob’s determined, and things soon reach boiling point.
Jacob rages how he knew Leanna better than Liam, and a furious Liam storms out, leaving guilty Leyla blaming herself.
Later Jacob pleads with Liam to think again about the funeral, pointing out that it should reflect all that was unique and amazing in Leanna’s personality.
At Leanna’s funeral, killer Meena Julta covertly fiddles with Leanna’s ring on her necklace.
She panics when the ring falls from the necklace, watching in horror as it rolls and stops near Liam’s shoe. Quietly stricken, Meena fears discovery.
Meanwhile, Ben Tucker (Simon Lennon) is torn over his dad’s emotionally blackmailing texts and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) urges him to delete them.
He apologises to Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele) for lying to her about his connection to Warren and witnessing his distress, she’s uncomfortable, finding it all too close for comfort.
When Aaron catches up with him later at work, Ben agrees he needs to collect the rest of his belongings from his dad’s house, but he declines Aaron’s offer to move into Mill, explaining he can’t live with another alcoholic.

Forced to accept Ben’s decision, Aaron’s angry at Liv for ruining things.
Arriving back home to find Liv drinking vodka again, Aaron’s anger rises as he blames her for Ben’s refusal to move in.
Drunk and in denial, Liv jibes the real reason is Ben isn’t really that into him.
