Faye Brookes says TOWIE legend slid into her DMs after Dancing On Ice debut

Dancing On Ice star Faye Brookes is among the front runners to lift the trophy come this series’ finale.

And now she’s revealed that she’s got a big name – a Dancing On Ice legend and TOWIE icon – cheering her and pro partner Hamish Gaman to the finish line.

After taking to the ice for the first time, none other than Gemma Collins slid into her DMs.

Taking her turn with Matt Evers, Gemma’s 2019 stint in skates is one of the show’s best remembered.

Faye explained that Gemma was particularly taken with their routine to Lover by Taylor Swift, and now tunes in each week to cheer for her and Hamish.

2021’s series has already seen Myleene Klass and Graham Bell eliminated after two tense skate-offs.

And Sunday’s show will see another star hopeful booted out of the competition as the remaining celebs skate for survival.

Meanwhile, Faye had fans in meltdown after sharing that she wouldn’t rule out a return to Corrie.

She told OK! magazine: “My journey at Corrie was open-ended, so that’s possibly something I could go back to and if there was an opportunity, I would.”

Faye added: “Who knows what the future holds?”

She starred on the Cobbles for four years until her departure in 2019.

After onscreen partner Bhavna Limbachia’s character Rana Habeeb died, Faye insisted she’d be sticking about in Weatherfield for some time.

“Death was the only realistic way for Bhavna to leave because I’m not going anywhere,” she said at the time, “I love my job and feel like I’ve only just begun to sink my teeth into Kate.”

But weeks later, fans were gutted to learn she wanted to “explore new opportunities”.

“I’ve loved playing Kate Connor, but she needs a break for a little while and so with a song in my heart I’m off to pastures new. #corrie,” she added in the post.

But Corrie bosses decided to leave the door open for her.

“Faye is a very talented actress,” ITV said in a statement, “who has put her all into the portrayal of Kate Connor for the past three and a half years, we wish her every success for the future.

“She will be on screen until early autumn and the door will be left open.”
