The 90-minute documentary explores the signer’s rise to fame in the 90s and the highly publicised breakdown in 2007.
It also covers her court-mandated conservatorship, which allows her father, Jamie Spears, control of her finances and other aspects of her life.
The court case is still ongoing, with a judge most recently overruling her dad’s objections to an order establishing Bessemer Trust Co as a co-conservator of his daughter’s estate.
The film, directed by Samantha Stark, also looks closely at the sexism that helped shaped the media narrative surrounding Britney.
There are no new interviews with Britney in the documentary.

Her family declined to take part, and filmmakers have said they did try to contact Britney but were unsure whether the request ever reached her, as the “circle” around her is so “tight”.
When Framing Britney Spears aired in the US earlier in the month, it prompted an outpouring of support from a number of celebrities including Sarah Jessica Parker, Paris Hilton and Miley Cyrus.
It also prompted an apology from her ex Justin Timberlake, who said he was “sorry for the times in my life where my actions contributed to the problem, where I spoke out of turn, or did not speak up for what was right”.
