Gavin and Stacey's Joanna Page 'still in shock' after sharing pregnancy news

Gavin and Stacey star Joanna Page has admitted she’s “still in shock” at becoming pregnant with her fourth child.

It comes after the 44-year-old actress revealed she was pregnant with her fourth child – after taking to Instagram to announce the exciting news on Monday night.

The mum-of-three had posted a snap of herself flaunting her growing baby bump alongside the caption: “Well this is a surprise! Baby number four on the way. It’s going to be a busy Christmas.”

However, it appears the BBC star is still coming to terms with the life-changing surprise as she opened up about her pregnancy on The One Show.

During Tuesday night’s episode, Joanna confessed she’s “still in shock” at the news.

Joanna said: “My goodness! I’m still in shock I think.”

Jokingly, she went on: “Number four. I said to my husband ‘we’re not going to have any retirement’, it’s sort of going to be from children to death.

“We’re not going to have anything in between. We’re not going to have a break at all!”

One Show hosts Alex Jones and Gethin Jones burst out laughing, with Gethin telling Alex that she’s “trying to catch up” with Joanna, as she’s pregnant with her third baby.

Joanna then quipped that there must be “something in the water” at BBC Radio Wales as her and Alex both have new babies on the way.

Joanna and her husband James Thornton, whom she married in 2003, already share three children together.

They had their first baby, Eva, in 2013 before their two sons Kit and Noah followed in 2015 and 2016 respectively.

Now, they’re set to welcome their fourth child towards the end of 2021.

Joanna’s baby news comes after she told The Sun that the first national lockdown put a strain on their marriage, and the couple argued a lot.

She said: “I’m sure all parents found it really difficult during lockdown.

“You’re with the children so much, and then at night-time they all just wanted to sleep in bed with us.”

Joanna is also starring alongside Melanie Sykes to present Shop Well For Less.

The One Show airs at 7pm on BBC One and BBCiPlayer
