GMB fans rage as guest argues Shamima Begum should be allowed back to Britain

Good Morning Britain fans have erupted in fury after Human Rights barrister Adam Wagner hit out of the decision of UK courts to block Shamima Begum from returning to the UK to fight for her citizenship in the courts.

Wagner argued that the law has been bent to make an exception of the ISIS bride due to her notoriety.

Wagner told hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid: “She has done some terrible things and the thing she had said are despicable but this comes down to due process.

“She has not been charged with a crime. She was born her and she was raised here.

“The Supreme Courts have said she can never had an appeal while she is in Syria. She has had citizenship taken away so she is now stuck.”

He added: “We have brought back hundreds of similar cases and its not clear to me why he cant be brought back and do what we do best and give her a fair trial.”

When she was a schoolgirl, she snuck out of the country with two friends to join the terrorist organisation.

Less than two years ago she appeared on TV from a refugee camp telling Sky News she didn’t regret her decision.

Piers Morgan said Shamima should not be allowed to return to the UK

She also said she thought the horrific Manchester Arena bombing was “justified” and that she wasn’t fazed seeing decapitated heads in the bin.

Shamima also said her ISIS terrorist husband often saw beheadings in the street and would return home and tell her about it.

Coming down hard on Shamima, Piers fumed: “You raise a good point. I wouldn’t let any ISIS killer back.

“But she expressed no regret. This woman shows no remorse, no regrets. She is a grown woman.

“She has had time to think about what went on.

“She could look at heads in bins. I would say she clearly is an ongoing threat.

“She hasn’t changed. She is 21 now. She hasn’t denounced ISIS. Hasn’t said anything against them. She seems to be stuck in the position that she thinks ISIS wasn’t a bad thing.”

The Life Stories host added: “I think if you made your terrorist bed then you have got to lie in it.

“If all these fighters are being brought back because of the lack of evidence that is available form the battle field in Syria, then we have many who walk away scot-free.

“A lot of people will feel incensed by this.”

As the debate continued on ITV, Good Morning Britain viewers flocked to Twitter to continue the discussion.

The majority of viewers were left furious at even the mer thought Shamima could return in any form to the UK.

One viewer raged: “Sorry no. An example needs to be made here, Laws can change and should be fit with modern, secular societies.

“What example does allowing her back make? That you can willingly travel somewhere to commit despicable crimes and we’ll let you back. No.”

Another added: “She made her bed let her lie in it! I think our authorities have enough to deal with without having extra idiots to deal with.”

A third hit out: “She should never return, not have any right to appeal it.

“She said she enjoyed her time, no regrets How can they even consider letting her return she will be a danger she will have to be constantly be monitored and who knows she could be planning something now?”

Disagreeing, one viewer moaned: “Shamima has been treated very badly by the UK government. She is being made an example of. The law cannot be changed just to appease the British public.”

Another added: “Shamima Begum has done wrong things clearly, but we all make mistakes and choices.”
