Gordon Ramsay has broken his silence after the vile treatment his daughter Tilly was subjected to by radio broadcaster Steve Allen.
The notoriously angry chef broke his silence after Steve’s rude reference to the teenager Strictly star as he branded her a “chubby little thing” on his LBC show.
Gordon, 54, sent a sweet message to Tilly, 19, as he wished his daughter and her dance partner Nikita Kuzmin “the very best” ahead of their performance on Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday.
Sharing a photo of Tilly and Nikita, Gordon wrote: “Wishing these two all the very best for tonight’s dance, another extraordinary week of training, focused hard-working and very professional @tillyramsay @nikita__kuzmin @bbcstrictly.”
In response to his kind caption, fans shared their praise for the youngster after she endured body shaming by the rude radio host earlier in the week.
One fan typed: “Hope Tilly is OK, she is an inspiration to so many youngsters.”
A second remarked: “You raised a whole Queen.”
While a third commented: “She’s doing fantastic and looks incredible. I need some tips!”
Tilly also stuck up for herself publicly said that people should be free to voice their opinions, but “I draw the line at commenting on my appearance” in reaction to the body-shaming insult.
The comments were hurled when Steve read out a comment from a listener on-air telling him that Tilly was taking part in Celebrity MasterChef Australia, as well as BBC’s Strictly.
To which he responded: “Is she? Well, she can’t blimming well dance, I’m bored with her already.
“She’s a chubby little thing, isn’t she? Have you noticed? Probably her dad’s cooking, I should imagine.”
Tilly then later directly addressed his comments in an Instagram post explaining how she “won’t tolerate people that think it’s okay to publicly comment and scrutinise anyone’s weight and appearance”.
The children’s TV presenter said she tries not to look at what’s written or said about her, but being “called out on a national radio station by a 67-year-old man is a step too far”.
Tilly says she’s faced similar comments about her appearance in the past and that although she is learning to accept herself, words can still most definitely hurt.
