Iain Stirling makeover before Love Island fame – Liam Payne double to losing 2st

Love Island star Iain Stirling has won over legions of fans with his hilarious narration on the hit ITV2 show over the years, catapulting him into fame.

But as fans never see him on the show, they might not have realised just how much he has changed over the years.

He started off his career as a kids TV presenter, hosting shows with Hacker the Dog, and bore a startling resemblance to singer Liam Payne from when he was competing in X Factor.

Rocking a mop of brown hair which was swept across his face, Iain completed the look with a red and white checked shirt with a black V-neck cardigan buttoned up over it.

He looked like Liam’s double, as the Brummy-born singer was also rocking a Justin Bieber-esque hairstyle at the time too.

Iain shared the old snap on social media, writing: “Here is a little bit of the internet reserved purely for a man (boy?) with what he thought was a great haircut, doing a sketch with a skeleton over a decade ago. Enjoy. Particularly the Iain and Hacker OG’s.”

In more recent times, Iain has transformed his look as he revealed that he managed to shed a whopping two stone during the lockdown.

Iain lost a whopping 2st during lockdown as he cut down on drinking

Speaking to Vicky Pattison on her podcast, he revealed he managed to drop the pounds by cutting back on alcohol.

He said: “I have lost one stone and 9lbs. I was 15st 9 last time I weighed myself, which was a while ago when I was on tour.

“Now I am 14 stone dead.”

Iain added: “It’s because I’ve not got access to draft lager. I can’t go to a pub. I’ve built one in my garden now but I didn’t have any pubs I could go to.”

He is now happily coupled up with presenter Laura Whitmore, who he married in a private ceremony in Dublin last year.

The pair also welcomed their first child, a daughter, in March this year, but have yet to officially confirm the tot’s name while sharing adorable snaps of her cuddling up to them.

Love Island airs weekdays and Sundays at 9pm on ITV2.
