Inbetweeners star James Buckley asks pal Danny Dyer for EastEnders role

James Buckley wants a role on EastEnders and has asked his mate Danny Dyer to get him on the soap.

The Inbetweeners star is big pals with Danny – who has played Queen Vic land Lord Mick Carter on the BBC One series since 2013 – and has tapped up his pal to land him a part on Albert Square.

Danny, 44, has offered to sort James, 34, out with a month on the programme, and after that it’s up to him.

In a YouTube video posted to James’ At Home With The Buckleys channel, the comedy star asked his mate: “Get me a day on EastEnders?”

Danny replies: “Get you a day? I’ll get you a month. You’re having a month, that’s it … We work six days a week.”

In the video – which was filmed as the famous pair and other pals take a trip to feast on meat at Altons BBQ World – Danny also lets slip that James – famous for playing foul-mouthed teenager Jay Cartwright in The Inbetweeners – is an “Emmerdale nut” and never watches him in EastEnders.

Danny says: “He’s an Emmerdale nut, loves a tractor. He doesn’t watch EastEnders.”

Danny’s family – his wife Joanna and daughter Dani – even celebrated Halloween with James and his wife Clair.

The two also found time to enjoy cocktails and dinner in Danny’s garden igloo during the April lockdown and as the night grew darker they put on some disco lights while eating.

The two couples discussed farting and made jokes while sat around the table, as Danny said he likes the fact there’s a lot of “fart chat” on James’ vlog.

Danny and James have been pals for a long time, and the Inbetweeners actor attended Danny’s wedding in 2017.

James has previously supported Danny Dyer in public spats, including one with The Only Way is Essex star, Mark Wright.

James told the Metro: “I’m sure he’s nice but he’s like a Cockney Kermit the Frog.”

James also appeared on an episode of Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch, where he talked about his close friendship with Danny.
