ITV riles up straight white male workers for ‘going out-of-control woke’

ITV bosses have riled their straight white male workers with a string of ultra-woke schemes, it has been claimed.

Execs are promoting diversity by using networking groups to welcome gay, disabled and minority workers.

But insiders say the super-liberal moves are alienating some staff. One source seethed: “This just shows that white men are now not considered.

“It has gone out-of-control ‘woke’ and it really doesn’t seem right.”

Self-care services on offer to ITV’s workforce include origami and paint-pouring sessions – with the necessary equipment delivered to working-from-home staff.

There are also “racial fluency” lessons to fight potentially career-ending diversity slip-ups.

And stressed staff are now able to unload their pressures at an online “Frazzled Café”.

The “snowflake” moves come after ITV was slated 18 months ago for featuring just one non-white presenter in an entire day’s programming.

Chief executive Dame Carolyn McCall is said to be on a mission to tend to employees’ every emotional need after a series of suicides linked to Love Island, including host Caroline Flack, and The Jeremy Kyle Show.

Mike Thalassitis, who appeared on Love Island in series three, took his own life in 2019.

And The Jeremy Kyle Show was cancelled on May 10, 2019, following the death of Stephen Dymond.

The 63-year-old died of a morphine overdose and a heart problem seven days after appearing on the show.

ITV have refused to comment.

But it is understood the channel feels its range of remote events and courses for colleagues are helping them to adjust to working from home.
