Jamie Redknapp apologises to wife Frida after Harry's Christmas message to Raphael

Jamie Redknapp has said sorry to his wife Frida after his dad Harry made a cheeky joke about her native Sweden.

Harry, 74, was pictured holding Jamie and Frida’s newborn son Raphael in a sweet Christmas snap shared on social media.

He said to his new grandson: “Raph, if you’re in the garden with that football and you practice harder, if you are going to play for England, we need you to practice.”

Harry then cheekily added: “If you don’t practice, you’re playing for Sweden.”

Jamie could be heard laughing off camera but he later issued an apology to his wife on Instagram, as well as Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimović.

He wrote: “Sorry Frida. No offence Sweden. No offence Zlatan!”

The couple, who welcomed baby Raphael last month, shared an insight into their sweet family Christmas with a series of snaps on social media.

Jamie shared a picture of himself, Frida, his parents Harry and Sandra, and his sons Charlie, 17, and Beau, 13, settling down for a Christmas lunch at Beaverbrook Hotel & Spa.

The former footballer could also be seen holding his sleeping son his lap in front of the lavishly laid out table in the huge dining room as Frida wrapped her arms around him.

He captioned the picture: “Happy Christmas from the Redknapp’s. Hope you had the best day with your families.”

Jamie shares his two sons with his ex-wife Louise Redknapp, who wasn’t seen in the festive picture as she celebrated the day elsewhere.

He married Frida in a small ceremony in Chelsea in October after they started dating back in 2019 after being reportedly introduced to each other by mutual friends.

The new dad announced the birth of his third son on social media last month, posting: “”Meet Raphael Anders Redknapp, we’re so in love, mum is doing so well too.”

In the picture, Jamie was seen kissing the head of his new son, who was seen wearing a red knitted jumper with Raphael embroidered on the back in white writing, along with a white babygrow.

It didn’t take long for the messages of congratulations and well wishes poured in from both fans and friends as Jamie shared the happy family news.
