Emmerdale actor Jonny McPherson has shared pics of inside his humble abode on sea in Leeds.
The actor who plays a GP called Dr Cavanagh on the Yorkshire soap, has revealed that he lives a very simple life outside of the show, living in a houseboat he calls ‘Benedict’ with his lovely rescue dog Molly and a heron who regularly comes to their window and spies on them.
Jonny has shared a few pictures of inside his narrowboat home which features a bed, a velvety green couch and a small kitchen area some of which he documents on his Twitter page.
Describing his choice of living arrangement earlier this week on This Morning, the Emmerdale star said: “Three and a half years now I’ve lived on Benedict, which is a 60ft narrowboat.”
He continued: “Keith is a resident heron at the dock where I’ve got the boat permanently moored now.
“He struts by the window most mornings, peering in at me as if I’m the weird one. He’s a lovely fellow.”
Back in 2019, the actor shared that it took him four months to get to Leeds. In a tweet, he wrote: “After four months of swollen rivers, dodgy locks, a temperamental engine and the occasional wrong turn (pipe down @Nick_Miles_) I’m so bloody happy to say I have at last arrived in the fine city of Leeds.
“Thanks to all who’ve joined me on the journey and helped along the way.”
Jonny’s humble abode isn’t the only thing that we’ve had an insight too recently.
His Emmerdale co-star Natalie J Robb (who plays Moira Barton) confirmed that the pair had started dating just before the first lockdown in March 2020.
Speaking on their romance on Loose Women, she said: “Our first date was in mid-January, and then we were just having a couple of dates in February and then obviously March lockdown happened.
“And we were together at the time that Boris Johnson announced it.”
