Loose Women’s Kaye Adams brought Tuesday’s show to a halt after an interview was interrupted by a child making loud “noise” during a heartfelt discussion about autism.
The 58-year-old was slammed by viewers who called her “rude” for cutting off a very real interview on a very serious subject.
One angry fan penned: “@jc_novelli As a father of 3 autistic children I found it extremely rude and insensitive of @loosewomen to make you move Valentino from the room.
“To use sound probs as an excuse then Kaye opening up with ‘we could just hear him’ is disgusting, I am surprised you came back on.”
Another tweet read: “@loosewomen They do a piece on eliminating stigma and promoting tolerance for children with autism.
“But break into the interview to have the kid bundled out of earshot. The irony lost on them #loosewomen.”
A third fumed: “Love how @loosewomen do the politically correct ‘lets talk about inclusion of autistic children’ then break away from Jean-Christophe for ‘sound issues’ then move the autistic child to a different room… Like, wow. Did you really just do that?”
Jean-Christophe and Michelle Novelli had appeared on the programme via a video link to discuss their son Valentino’s autism diagnosis, along with their parenting coping mechanisms.
The parents didn’t seem to have any childcare in place as a young tot could be heard screaming and playing as they attempted to speak to panellists.
When the show returned from the adverts, Kaye politely said that the studio had also “experienced technical issues too”.
Jean-Christophe and his wife Michelle couldn’t apologise enough as they continued to say “sorry” for the disruption.
Fans assumed the couple had been asked to remove their child from the room as Valentino didn’t appear to be in earshot when the interview later concluded.
As the interview abruptly finished with Kaye telling the pair time was up, an embarrassed Michelle uttered one final “sorry” before the video link was cut.
Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV.
