Kelle Bryan shuts down Loose Women's Janet as Covid vaccine clash turns tense

Loose Women’s Janet Street Porter and Kelle Bryan had a rather frosty chat on Wednesday, after they discussed coronavirus and vaccinations.

Hosted by Kaye Adams, the ladies spoke openly on whether it was “selfish” to not want to be vaccinated and whether people were still entitled to have a choice.

But as the women discussed the topic in great detail, Janet and Kelle got into a heated debate. Kaye was also caught in the cross fire too as she tried to put her views across.

While Kelle spoke passionately about the topic, she was slightly interrupted by Janet which forced her to raise her hand and say “one second Janet” as she finished speaking.

Kelle and Janet had a heated debate on covid vaccines

Janet, who appeared to be rather zealous about people having a choice about vaccines said to Kaye that it was “too strong” to suggest that someone was selfish if they refused to take the jab.

Expressing her views on the vaccine, Kelle said: “We live in a privileged society where we can get the vaccine or we can get it at any time.

“For me personally I couldn’t wait. I don’t think I should be labelling…”

But as she tried to complete her sentence, Janet tried to chime in.

Janet shared her opinions on the vaccination

Kelle said: “One second Janet, I don’t think we should be labelling people as selfish but I do think we need to be educating people so they feel more comfortable.

Janet, who wasn’t fully convinced by Kelle’s stance just yet replied: “But what would be your tactic?

“If you keep calling them selfish, you and I agree on that but the trick is here how to tip them over.

“And just shouting at them, not that we’re shouting but you know what I mean. Nagging them isn’t going to get a result.”

Kelle responded: “We can’t label all young people selfish, we can’t label all people in that bracket as selfish, agreed.

“But we can do is talk to people and talk to those who have concerns about the vaccinations.”

As Kelle continued to discuss concerns that are valid in certain communities, Kaye piped up and told her that some concerns over the vaccination were invalid.

Viewers at home also picked up on the heated clash but appeared to side with Janet regarding the fact that receiving the jab was a personal choice.

Taking to Twitter one fan commented: “Yes Janet it is personal choice.”

While another penned: “I agree with Janet.”

A third said: “I agree with Janet it’s a personal choice.”

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV.
