The world was rocked by the tragic death of eight people at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival in Houston, Texas, this weekend.
But as others mourned, Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Kris Jenner chose to share various photos of the flowers she got for her birthday on Instagram.
Travis Barker, Kris’ daughter Kourtney Kardashian’s fiancé, gifted her a bunch of roses along with the message: “Love you and hope you have the best day!”
Taking to her Insta Stories, the 66-year-old replied: “Travis, love you! Thank you for my beautiful birthday flowers!”
Makeup guru James Charles also sent the personality a floral tribute, joining others from daughters Kim and Khloe.
Fans were left fuming at all Kris’ Stories about the snaps, racing to Twitter to share their outrage.
One wrote: “Is this family really that disconnected from reality? I feel uneasy about the contrast between Kris Jenner showing off her birthday roses and the current situation in Houston…”
A second added: “That’s bad press, Kris. Yikes. How you going to fix this one?”
While a third chirped: “Little tacky and off point when Kris Jenner updates her insta story with individual thank you pics to all the birthday flowers from her loved ones”.
The mum-of-six ushered in her 66th year with a karaoke party, which Kylie and Kendall missed to attend the concert.
50,000 people attended the event, where Texas officials said crowds eventually started to “compress towards the front of the stage”, causing alarm.
Houston’s fire department confirmed that at least eight people had died and many others were left injured.
The investigation into what they’re calling a “mass casualty incident” continues after the concert was cancelled on Saturday.
Responding to the tragedy, Travis took to social media to say: “I am absolutely devastated by what took place last night. My prayers go out to the families and all those impacted by what happened at Astroworld Festival…”
His partner Kylie followed suit, writing: “Travis and I are broken and devastated. My thoughts and prayers are with all who lost their lives, were injured or affected in anyway by yesterday’s events”.
“I want to make it clear we weren’t aware of any fatalities until the news came out after the show and in no world would have continued filming or performing”, she added.
