Kym Marsh shares her anxiety attacks 'have come back with a vengeance' after taking break

Kym Marsh has been suffering anxiety attacks while taking time out from the BBC’s Morning Live to look after her stricken dad.

The ex-Corrie star’s father Dave, 76, right, was diagnosed with incurable prostate cancer in March.

Now Kym, 45, has taken a step back from co-hosting the daytime show with Gethin Jones to help look after him.

She said: “I’ve suffered with anxiety attacks in the past and they’ve come back with a vengeance.

“Trying to support my family and working away was making life really difficult.

“So I decided to step back from Morning Live to focus on myself and my nearest and dearest. I’ve started to have some help about my mental health. You’ve got to give yourself a break.”

Kym Marsh bravely opened up on Morning Live

Kym’s comments come after she updated fans on her absence on Friday’s episode of Morning Live.

She shared: “You might have noticed I’ve not been around much since the end of July – well there’s been some very good reasons for that.

“I think it’s fair to say the last few months have been ridiculously busy with one thing or another for me and my family.”

“I’ve been off for the last few weeks and one of the reasons for that is because I want to be here for my dad and I need to be here to support my family and it was absolutely the right choice to make.”

Kym also missed the show earlier in the year after she and her children tested positive for coronavirus.

Kym has also been recovering from a double hernia operation.

Kym Marsh has been open about her dad’s health battle

The actress shared a positive health update on her dad during the episode.

She divulged: “There’s been a slight glimmer of good news.

“Dad’s PSA levels often detected in high quantities when prostate cancer might be growing have responded to his medication.”
