Lauren Goodger has opened up about her traumatic seven hour labor, revealing that she thought she was going to die.
The former TOWIE star, who gave birth to baby girl Larose in July, shared all the details about her drug-free home birth in an interview with OK! Magazine.
She described the birth as the “hardest moment of my life”, adding that she had a natural home birth with no drugs.
Lauren said: “I had a bit of gas and air, which we ran out of and they had to go to hospital to get some more, but I was in my zone and I did it. From my first contraction to giving birth, it was seven hours.”
She continued that she went through “hours and hours” of labour before the nurse told her she was 8cm dilated, so would be ready to give birth any minute.
Lauren said: “I didn’t get a break because once contractions started they were every 30 seconds – I thought I was going to die!
“This pain was so bad that I couldn’t take it and I was exhausted, but when you get to the end bit and she’s actually coming out, it’s like you get this other energy. She actually came out when I was standing up.”
The 34-year-old described the moment she became a parent as “the best thing that’s ever happened” to both her and her boyfriend Charles Drury.
She said: “Real life starts when you have a child. There’s this beautiful person you have to look after now you’re a mum. It’s the making of you.”
Charles, who filmed the birth, added: “I’ve watched it 20 times now and every time I cry without fail.”
The proud parents, who have only been dating since October 2020, announced the birth of their baby girl in an instagram post accompanied with a photo of the newborn’s tiny hand.
The post read: “Welcome to the world our baby girl have arrived…. Mummy and Daddy are so in love with you.”
In the interview with OK! Online, the reality starlet also shared that Larose’s name was a special tribute to both her and her great-grandmother.
She said: “I decided to call her Larose because my great-nan was called Rose and I’m named Lauren Rose after her.
“So I decided to name my daughter after me. It feels so special to be able to name my baby that.
