Lorraine fans distracted after spotting Ranvir Singh's 'stunning' hair makeover

Ranvir Singh shared some exciting personal news with fans on Tuesday’s Lorraine – she finally made it to the hair salon after enduring months of lockdown hair.

The GMB presenter, who is filling in for Lorraine Kelly during the Easter break, looked completely transformed with her new ‘do, which was chopped shorter and parted down the centre.

Her ITV co-stars couldn’t get over the trim, with Good Morning Britain’s Ben Shephard and Charlotte Hawkins rushing to compliment the hairdo.

“Oh my God, Ranvir how lovely does your hair look,” fellow presenter Andi Peters added.

And, her fellow Strictly star HRVY, who appeared on the show to promote his new music, added: “I must say before we start, your hair looks lovely.”

Meanwhile, watching the show from home, viewers were distracted by Ranvir’s chop, as they took to their keyboards to swoon over the new look.

“@ranvir01 love the new barnet,” gushed one admirer.

“@ranvir01 looking [fire] today. Goodluck with todays show,” chimed a second, and a third agreed: “Looking very glam Ranvir X.”

“@ranvir01 you are STUNNING,” wrote a fourth.

After getting the chop in KITCH hair in North London, Ranvir showed off the results on Instagram, revealing there was an emotional story to her transformation.

The broadcaster reflected on her battle with alopecia, with the heartache of her father’s death triggering the condition.

Often stemming from stress, alopecia areata is an autoimmune disorder that causes your hair to fall out.

She said: “Well today’s post-lockdown haircut @kitchhair with Luca working his magic has been a revelation.

“As most of you know, I’ve had #alopecia since my dad had a heart attack and died when I was 8/9 yrs old.”

Ranvir explained every haircut had a special significance for her, as she highlighted the toll alopecia can take on a person’s confidence.

“So a haircut has never just been about style or fashion,” she went on.

“It’s always driven by how best to make me feel confident around covering patches. For the first time ever I’ve had bonded extensions courtesy of @simplyhairuk added into my fringe!!

“Luca you genius!! There are so many new techniques and products out there to help if you have the same problem so please don’t despair. Also, loving this chunky bob!”

Lorraine airs on weekdays at 9am on ITV.
