Love Island's Hugo 'imagining what could have been' as Jake and Liberty split

Love Island’ s Hugo Hammond has hinted at regrets from his time in the villa after he previously revealed that he and Liberty Poole had a secret chat as she kept her options open while Jake Cornish got to know Millie Court.

Hugo let his potential romance with Liberty slide as she rekindled with Jake, but it looks like the PE teacher could be having regrets as shockwaves went through the villa and Jake and Liberty split.

In a new TikTok, Hugo shared a clip with the backing track to Adele’s Rolling In The Deep as he stared longingly out of the window and appeared a little disappointed.

He wrote on the clip: “When Lib pulls you for chats after Jakey wanted to get to know Millie but the show didn’t air it to protect “Jiberty” and now this happens.”

He captioned the video: “Imagine what could have been”, as his followers immediately fawned over the clip and asked for more information on the chats.

As likes piled up on the video, users were also begging for an explanation as one person wrote: “Would you ask her on a date now?”

Another wrote: “Hold the phone, what? This would have been such a good couple.”

A third person added: “Hugo you can’t just say that then dip.”

Hugo has kept the content of the chats very close to his chest, but he previously confessed in a chat with Closer Online that Liberty had pulled him for a chat, but it wasn’t shown to the public.

Lucinda joined Hugo as he shared the gossip as she said: “She was exploring her options, wasn’t she?”, which saw Hugo respond: “Yeah I think so.”

Hugo’s comments about “what could have been” comes after Liberty and Jake called time on their budding romance after six weeks together.

The pair ended things in Thursday night’s episode and will reportedly exit the villa tonight as they choose to go their separate ways.

It comes just days before the live final which will see Millie and Liam, Chloe and Toby, Kaz and Tyler and Faye and Teddy face the public vote to see who will be crowned the winner of Love Island 2021.
