Love Island's Jake Cornish sparks cast rift rumours after missing several nights out

It’s never easy after Love Island if you weren’t popular or angered fans, and Jake Cornish has been keeping something of a low profile since leaving the villa.

He was criticised by many fans of the show due to his behaviour towards then-girlfriend Liberty Poole, but viewers thought he would at least go for nights out with the rest of the cast and make the most of his new fame.

The 24-year-old water engineer from Weston-Super-Mare was notably absent from the reunion show at the weekend.

He blamed illness as his reason for giving the ITV2 show a miss, but fans aren’t buying the excuse.

Viewers were disappointed not to see him reunite with Liberty in the studio, after their dramatic split just days before the live final.

Reunion host Laura Whitmore told the audience: “Jake can’t be with us as he isn’t feeling well this evening.”

Fans were quick to share their conspiracy theories on social media, about why Jake would be missing from the show.

“Jake didn’t want to face the music,” tweeted one.

“Jake isn’t at the reunion ? How convenient!” claimed another.

A pre-recorded meeting of Jake and Liberty was aired during the show, and one viewer pointed out how odd that was.

“Ha! So they filmed a Liberty Jake reunion beforehand because they knew Jake as gonna be “ill” Love Island” they said suspiciously, with several crying laughing emojis.

Fans wondered why it was pre-recorded if he was genuinely ill

Another joked about how boring the reunion was, adding: “Jake avoided the reunion thinking there would be drama but he could’ve actually come at this point.”

As well as the reunion Jake also missed several boozy nights out with cast mates, as the likes of Chloe and Toby and winners Millie and Liam have been posting many snaps from nights out.

Other Love Island stars have been on plenty of nights out together

He hinted on Instagram that he thinks he was edited unfairly on the show.

Answering a question from a fan, he cryptically answered: “If people knew what was said which wasn’t aired I think people would believe differently”.

He also said on his story: “I’m good thanks, been unwell for the last week but starting to feel much better today.”

Jake also promised that there are “many things to come” from him.
