Love Island's most famous exes – Prince Harry fling, pop stars and soap romance

Some of the Love Island cast have already had a taste of stardom after getting romantically involved with people already in the spotlight.

The exes are all from different walks of life, with the likes of Prince Harry, Lewis Capaldi and Chris Hughes on the celebrity ex list, with islanders of various series being involved with celebs in the past.

More and more islanders are heading into the villa with famous exes, but Camilla Thurlow was one of the very first people to head on the show with a well-known relationship history.

Prince Harry

Camilla tops the charts when it comes to famous exes after dating Prince Harry in 2014 even if it was just for a few short months. The pair reportedly started dating after Harry’s split from Cressida Bonas.

Prince Harry dated Camilla two years before he went on his first date with now-wife Meghan Markle, and it seems that both Harry and Camilla have found romance elsewhere.

Camilla left Love Island hand-in-hand with Jamie Jewitt as the pair bagged second place, after her exit, she admitted she wanted to stay quiet about her former relationship, avoiding mentioning him during her time on the show.

At the time of leaving the villa, she said: “I didn’t want my past relationships in the spotlight to upset having a future with someone. I am very happy with Jamie right now.”

Her relationship with Jamie went from strength to strength as the pair are now engaged and have their baby girl Nell, whilst Harry has just welcomed his second child with Meghan.

Sam Strike

Dani Dyer dated her dad’s on-screen son Sam Strike (AKA Johnny Carter) from EastEnders prior to her time on Love Island.

The pair got together in 2015 after they became close during the filming of Bonded By Blood 2, and although it may seem like an unusual pairing, Danny was reportedly supportive of the two together.

Dani and Sam remained friends after their split and Dani appeared on Love Island three years later where she won the show with now-ex Jack Fincham.

Alex Iwobi

Clarisse Juliette dated Everton footballer Alex Iwobi for four years before her time in Love Island and the beauty has also been linked to a number of other famous men.

Her time in the villa was short yet sweet after she was brought back in by Tyler, who later realised he still wanted to be with Kaz.

After getting voted in the bottom couples, Clarisse was sent home while Tyler remained in the villa to rekindle his romance with Kaz.

Lewis Capaldi

Fans were shocked to find out that Lewis Capaldi’s ex was going into the villa, especially to find out that she is the person he has written some of his hit songs about., with Lewis admitting that Bruises, among others, were about Paige.

Viewers prepared themselves to dislike Paige Turley after learning the pair were on and off for two years between 2014 and 2016, but they immediately warmed to her.

Paige ultimately went on to win the show, and in an interview with the Independent, he said that she had “every right” to make money off their relationship, as he had also made money from it after the release of his tracks about her.

Chris Hughes

Chris Hughes reportedly dated Mary Bedford after his breakup with Jesy Nelson as the pair headed out on a date together last year.

It doesn’t seem that the couple were entirely loved-up as their romance seemingly fizzled out, but Mary is still on the hunt to find herself a man.

Things are heading in the right direction for her, but she’s previously said she doesn’t want to date a footballer, which her new beau Aaron is, so will she rethink her football ban?

Dane Bowers

Laura Anderson dated 90s singer Dane Bowers from the band Another Level in 2018, and this famous ex is actually the reason she applied for the show in the first place.

She reportedly applied to “make him jealous” after the pair split up, and clearly, it worked.

After a rough time on the show, Laura dated a few fellow islanders both on and off the screen, but none of her romances truly lasted.

After three years apart, Laura and Dane have now reunited and are living together in Dubai and are talking about the next steps in their relationship – it’s certainly looking serious.

Jordan Davies

Prior to her Love Island debut which saw her involved in two triangles, both with Adam Collard, Rosie dated Ibiza Weekender’s Jordan Davies.

They dated for two years before calling it quits as Rosie revealed she was a “secret” during their relationship due to his time on the show.

Rosie did note that the pair were still friends and when she headed into the villa Jordan showered her with support and said she deserved to win.

Although Rosie didn’t go on to win the show, she did find love on her exit and even planned to marry her beau, before the pair called it quits at the end of last year.

Aaron Connolly

Lucinda Strafford was dating Premier League player Aaron Connolly for two years before she headed into the Love Island villa, becoming the third person to enter the show this year with a footballer ex.

Although the pair were incredibly loved-up when they were together they still called time on their relationship after a long time together.

Reports came out during her time on the show that she was secretly dating Aaron still, but she has since denied this since she left the villa.
