Leilani Dowding has slammed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, saying she believes the couple view the royals as their new “competition”.
The 41-year-old model has never held back from speaking her mind and has hit out that couple for claiming they want “privacy”.
Since Megxit, Meghan, 40, and Harry, 36, have signed a lucrative deal with Netflix that is estimated to be worth around £76 million.
They negotiated a deal to produce informative documentaries, films, and children’s TV shows.
On top of that, last month Harry announced that he would be releasing a tell-all memoir.
In a statement, he said: “I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man, I have become.
“I’ve worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story—the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned—I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.”
Speaking to The Express., Leilani took aim at the royal couple and said that they’ve made the Royal Family into their “competition”.
The former Real Housewives of Cheshire star said: “Tell-all memoirs are not private, it’s the opposite of private.
“Telling your memoirs is the absolute opposite of what they said they wanted.”
She added: “So quite honestly, I just don’t believe they ever wanted privacy. They wanted to be a part of the Royal Family, not the privacy, but so that they could sell everything and that’s my opinion.”
Leilani went on to claim “I think they literally say the opposite of what they do want. I feel like everything is kind of in competition now, it’s almost not like it’s their family now but it’s their competition.”
Speaking on Harry’s memoir she said she would be interested in seeing how much the Duke recalls about his behavior and the ‘old’ Harry.
Leilani added: “I’ll be interested to see if it’s really about the interesting aspects of his life, the old Harry we love, his naughty behaviour, the chicks in Vegas, him dressing up for fancy dress parties.
“Or, whether he will be like, ‘Oh poor me, I’m a victim of a privileged lifestyle’.
“There’s a lot of people out there who have had hard lives and have come from poor families, so it’s kind of hard to feel that bad when you’ve come from a really privileged family and had everything you’ve ever wanted.”
