Naga Munchetty has sent her congratulations to two new members of the BBC team.
The BBC Breakfast host reached out to her new BBC colleagues on social media after saying farewell to her Breakfast co-star Louise Minchin – after her final broadcast which aired yesterday.
Naga, 46, took to Twitter to greet the two new BBC recruits and was excited to welcome them to the team.
It comes as the BBC’s official Twitter account shared the exciting news, writing: “BBC News has confirmed two news appointments: @jessbrammar as editor of BBC news channels and @BBCDanahar as lead, World story.”
Announcing the news on her personal Twitter account, Jess Brammar revealed she was “thrilled” to be joining the BBC team.
She penned: “Some personal news (a divisive phrase, I know!),Couldn’t be more thrilled to be joining such an incredibly talented team, on and off air.
“Very much looking forward to cracking on with the job.”
Naga was quick to send her well wishes to Jess, replying: “Congratulations!”
It follows BBC Breakfast legend Louise Minchin departing the flagship news programmer after 20 years – since she joined back in 2001.
In her final show which aired on Wednesday (15 September), Louise was surprised by a series of farewell gifts and events.
Her co-star, Dan Walker wanted to read out a handful of sweet messages from fans – which left Louise fighting back tears on air as she heard all about how much of an impact she’s had on her viewers.
At one point, Dan walked off of the sofa and escorted a blindfolded Louise, 53, outside of the Salford BBC studio, where she was met with a farewell party.
Louise even got a surprise from her husband David and father Patrick, who revealed their identities after wearing masks with Louise’s face on them.
Naga featured in a highlights video of Louise’s best moments at the BBC – wishing her pal all the best in her future endeavours.
In the video, Naga said: “Louise, your strength, your determination, your utter brilliance as a triathlete and woman.
“I think you’re brilliant and I think you’re going to carry on being brilliant away from here.”
