NCIS and Home Improvement Hollywood legend dies from 'cardiac arrest'

A Hollywood legend who starred in Night Court, as well as loved shows such as Home Improvement and NCIS, has died.

Charlie Robinson, 75, died from cardiac arrest with organ failure due to septic shock, The Wrap reports.

The star was battling a type of glandular cancer, the publication states.

The actor, who played Mac the court clerk in the Night Court sitcom, passed away on Monday in Los Angeles.

He played the character for seven seasons, between the years 1984 and 1992.

His career also saw him in the movies Secret Santa, The River, and Set it Off.

Other characters on the small screen include Buffalo Bill and Mom.

The star featured in many guest appearances and cameos and even featured on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, This is US, How I Met Your Mother, In The House, and Malcolm & Eddie.

Robinson, began his career as a theatre actor and a singer before he moved over to Hollywood.

His wife, Dolorita Noonan-Robinson, paid a special tribute to the Texas native.

She said: “Once referred to by Martin Landau as ‘the greatest, underestimated actor in Hollywood,’ Charles Robinson was the love of my life, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

“He was truly the working actor’s actor, and of all his passions, his craft took center stage, with his family being the wind beneath his wings, so he could soar to unbelievable heights! On behalf of my husband and family, I thank you for being part of the audience.”

Famous celebs, friends, and fans paid tribute to the star and paid condolences to his family.

Actress Marsha Warfield took to Twitter to say: “Oh, no! I’m so sorry to read this. Charlie Robinson was one of the great ones. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, fans, and all whose lives he touched.

“Rest well, Charlie, I thought you’d live forever.”

Robinson is survived by his wife Dolorita, children Luca, Charlie, Christian and Bryon, as well as his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and daughters-in-law.
