Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards sent her fans into overdrive on Friday afternoon as she shared yet another career highlight with her followers.
The pop babe took to social media to reveal that their latest single, Sweet Melody, had taken home this week’s Number One on the UK Charts.
However, her exciting news came before it was officially revealed by BBC Radio 1’s Scott Mills and the Official UK Charts Company.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Perrie shared a short video of a bunch of flowers her Liverpool FC player boyfriend, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had gifted her to mark the occasion.
Captioning the clip, the South Shield’s born star said: “No1 Babyyyy,” with a heart-eye emoji.

She later uploaded a snap of the card which accompanied the stunning floral gift which read: “#1 Love from Alex xx”.
Sweet Melody is the groups third single from their latest album, Confetti, and also their first Number One record since the departure of the former member, Jesy Nelson.
However, moments after sharing the posts, Perrie soon realised her errors and the posts were quickly removed from her Stories.

After the news was officially read out on air by Scott Mills, Perrie said: “[I’m] just so happy and so so proud.
“I just want to squish every single person and every single fan who managed to get it to number one, the power they have, the song’s been out for a month, it’s been doing amazing, it’s stuck around for ages and everyone was saying it’s a big hit and it got to number one.”
Bandmate Jade Thirlwall added: “It’s so special for us because it’s obviously the last single we did as a four, with Jesy and even more special now, going into 2021 as three, we’ve got the first number one.”
Leigh-Anne Pinnock quipped: “There was one point where there were like six different versions of Sweet Melody in the top 10 on iTunes. They are just so dedicated and amazing, our fans.”

Jesy, 29, quit last month after nine years in the group, saying the high-profile role had “taken a toll” on her mental health.
Her former bandmates, Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards, voiced their support, later announcing that they would continue to record and perform as a trio.
In the weeks leading up to her announcement, Nelson missed a number of appearances with Little Mix, including the MTV EMAs and the live final of their talent show, The Search.
Nelson had spoken openly about her battle with anxiety and previously revealed in a BBC documentary called Odd One Out that abuse on social media got so bad she attempted to take her own life.
The programme won her the award for best factual entertainment at the 2020 National Television Awards.
