Peter Kay has surprised his fans by making a rare public appearance as he appeared on the radio alongside Cat Deeley.
On Saturday, the 47-year-old comedian made his broadcast appearance on BBC Radio 2, just after 11am.
Waking fans up with a surprise, many were shocked to hear the funnyman’s voice as he has been laying low and somewhat out of the public eye since 2017.
Three years ago, Peter dropped out of the public eye, canceling his tour and all work commitments.
The star said it was down to “unforeseen family circumstances” and he has remained very private ever since.

A second said: “Stroke of luck putting the radio on. Peter Kay is on Radio 2, brilliant as always.”
“Peter Kay on BBC 2 omg!!,” typed and published another fan.

In true Peter Kay style, after greeting Cat mockingly and playfully as Catherine, he went on to be his honest self.
The comedian said he is “sick to death” of people wishing him a Happy New Year amid the start of 2021.
As Cat laughed, Peter said to her: You know when you get overwhelmed by texts, and you reply with copy and paste.”
Cat laughed along as she agreed as the pair got on like old friends while also chatting about mixtapes and reworked versions of popular classic hits.
The funnyman also discussed how he got Cat on board to be a presenter of his comedy show Britain’s Got The Pop Factor… And Possibly A New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly On Ice in 2008.
Peter recalled: “I have very eclectic taste. I rang you to give you the big sell.
“You were in LA and I was trying to say I’d love you to do it and trying to talk you into it.”
