Piers Morgan brands Meghan Markle a 'delusional Duchess' in Fox interview

On Monday evening, Piers Morgan sat down for a tell-all interview with America’s conservative television host and political commentator Tucker Carlson.

In the highly anticipated interview, Piers, 56, shared his views on the Meghan Markle and Prince Harry interview with Oprah Winfrey. While being interviewed by Carlson, Piers did not hold back his opinions and called Meghan a “delusional Duchess”.

The former GMB presenter renewed his fierce criticism of the Duchess and Prince Harry and says he was right to disbelieve her claims because he alleges 17 of the couple’s declarations have since been proven false, exaggerated or unverifiable.

Speaking frankly to Carlson on his Fox programme, Piers explained that he is now even more convinced that the Suits actress is “completely delusional”.

Piers said: “What I was witnessing was the most extraordinarily disingenuous smear, hit job, on the Royal family, on the Queen, on the monarchy, and frankly on Britain, my country,’ he said of the first time he watched the interview.

“I went on air on Monday morning with full bells on and said quite clearly that I didn’t believe what Meghan Markle was saying. Here we are a month later and frankly, I’ve had plenty of time to think about this – I still don’t believe any of what they were saying.

“Seventeen different claims by the pair of them have now been proven to be either completely untrue, or massively exaggerated, or unprovable. I don’t understand why I should have to believe people who are not telling the truth.”

The father of four also accused Meghan of leading a ‘woke mob’ that branded him as a racist and disallowed him to speak freely on matters that concern him.

The Life Stories presenter said: “It was Meghan’s way and Meghan’s truth,” he explained. “I was under attack from Ms Markle to confirm to her version of events and I had to believe her and if I didn’t I was a racist who should be condemned. “

He added: “I should be allowed to say: ‘I don’t believe you.'”

Morgan also shared his opinions on Meghan and Harry’s racism claims against the Royal Family.

In the Oprah Winfrey interview, Meghan stated that certain Royal Family members addressed concerns with her child Archie’s skin colour. Piers however believes that this was a smear campaign against the Royal Family, and pointed out that Harry was the only member of the family who’s been forced to apologise for racism in the past.

With regards to the concerns that were pointed out about Archie’s skin, Piers said: “We don’t know the context, we don’t know what was said.”

The star claimed that it could have been said “innocently”, though he did agree that if the question was “loaded with a sense of derogatory tone or concern, then it becomes racism”.

Morgan also suggested that Archie being barred from the Royal Family due to his skin colour was false.

“It’s not just a sense of her lived experience being untrue, it is factually incorrect. That boy was never going to be a prince until Prince Charles, Harry’s father, becomes king on the death of the Queen,” he explained.

“And that’s gonna happen whatever the skin colour of Archie’s mother, that’s set-in-stone – it’s been the case for 100 years.

Sharon spoke out and defended Piers’ views on Twitter

“So for Meghan Markle to try and create a story that says that the decision to not make Archie the title of prince was based on his skin colour is a lie.”

Morgan addressed his concerns regarding himself and Sharon Osborne losing their positions due to their views on race and the Royal Family.

The outspoken presenter explained: “If you’re going to accuse people of racism – and I have a real vested interest in this debate, because I have been accused of racism simply for disbelieving Meghan Markle, who we now know was not telling the truth throughout that interview.

“I feel very angry about that, and very aggrieved about that,’ he said. ‘And I have seen friends of mine, like Sharon Osborne, being removed from their job for defending me, because apparently, they were defending a racist.”

“I thought it took enormous courage by Sharon in the middle of my firestorm… Sharon went on Twitter immediately, within one hour of the news breaking that I’d gone and defended me and my right to have an opinion,” he expressed.

“She didn’t agree with everything I’ve said. She was already on the record from the day before as saying she disagreed with me about a lot of things,’ Morgan said. ‘But, when it really mattered, when the chips were down for me, she was there, she was a loyal friend. And my God has she paid for that loyalty.”
