Prince Harry warned Kaiser Chiefs' Ricky Wilson not to post backstage snap

Kaiser Chiefs’ frontman Ricky Wilson was reportedly told “don’t put that anywhere” after he snapped a quick pic with Prince Harry.

Former The Voice coach Ricky reminisced on his meeting with the royal as he hosted the Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Gaby Roslin on Virgin Radio.

Ricky and his fellow bandmates met Harry backstage and he was happy to get in a photo with them, but warned Wilson not to upload the picture anywhere.

“I did a gig once. I was stood in my portable cabin with the band. We share because we were not at that stage yet,” said Ricky.

“Harry comes in and chats to us for a minute in the portacabin. I said, ‘Can I have a picture?’ And we had a picture taken with Harry and that was brilliant.”

He continued: “Just as he was walking away, [Harry] said, ‘Don’t put that up anywhere.'”

The Duke of Sussex, who shares 10.5million followers on his joint Instagram account with his wife Meghan Markle, was stern enough to make Wilson think twice about sharing the snap.

“I don’t know whether he was joking or not but I have never put it up anywhere,” Ricky sayd.

Co-star Gaby Roslin said: “I don’t think he was joking,” before the pair moved on to discuss Harry’s fashion choices during their meeting.

While pondering on whether Harry’s father Prince Charles has ever worn casual clothing, Wilson said: “Harry was wearing jeans.”

Gaby was due to meet the Prince of Wales later on that day, and said: “So today when I meet Prince Charles, face-to-face with him, you want me to find out if he wears jeans?”

Ricky replied: “No, no. Ask him if he has ever worn jeans.”

Wilson narrates Dodo, a new comedy show about life in a Bristol school due to be aired on Cartoon Network and HBO Max next year.

Made by third year University of West England student Jack Bennett, the series is based on memories of his life throughout school and follows 11 year old Joe Connolly, voiced by Derry Girls actor Dylan Llewellyn and is set to be a “funny, relatable and heart-warming portrayal of everyday school life”.

The series is based on multi-award-winning film and YouTube hit Not The End of the World, by creator and series director Jack Bennett, which he made while in his final year at UWE.
