Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Lisa Barlow said she had “PTSD” after filming some of the “intense” moments for the hit show.
The series, which returns to hayu this month with a second season, premiered last year and was an instant hit with reality TV junkies – and that certainly looks set to continue.
Speaking of her new life as a reality star, Lisa exclusively told Daily Star: “There were definitely moments that were so intense.
“I know what I signed up for so I’m fine with the cameras being there, but it was definitely hard having to process three specific situations, and having to process friendships, relationships, situations that aren’t mine that now have become things I have to deal with.
“It was a lot, there are parts I had PTSD from, for sure.”
She explained: “When there’s a shift in dynamics and friendships, people automatically assume that’s bad. Sometimes it’s good because it allows you to get another layer of people.
“This season, you’re gonna see all of us – especially me – go on a rollercoaster within my friendships.
“I always prided myself on being a super good, loyal friend and we just go on this major rollercoaster.”
Speaking of the new season, Lisa said: “It’s intense. Let me just tell you, right from day one there was a lot happening. There was never a dull moment.
“The dynamic is much different with us this season, I think it’s better. It’s better in that we’re not all friendly all the time, there’s more depth and dimension to it. We’re peeling back the layers.
“But it was intense from day one.
“I don’t think there’s a dull moment the whole entire time we were filming. It’s so good.
“Literally every day, my husband was like, ‘This is more going on.’ It was a lot – in a good way!”
The trailer for the second season promises tears, tantrums – and Lisa’s co-star Jen Shah’s legal issues.
But Lisa said it’s important they don’t gloss over the tough times they go through.
“I definitely think you need to show 360,” she told us. “It’s really important showing not just the good – because no-one’s life is just good.
“Everybody’s life is full of so much, so it’s important you open yourself up. I knew going into this that I wanted to just be really authentic to myself.
“There are times when I’ve tempered myself – that’s probably my biggest regret, where in a normal situation I probably wouldn’t have given as many graces as I’ve given.
“I’ve always wanted to be on this franchise as authentic as I can be, and I’ve learned that the more authentic you are the better it is for you and everyone else.”
The second season sees new Housewife Jennie Nguyen join Lisa and the other returning ladies, Heather Gay, Jen Shah, Meredith Marks, Mary Cosby and Whitney Rose.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is available to stream on hayu, with season two premiering September 13
