Strictly Come Dancing champion Rose Ayling-Ellis shares her unusual Christmas morning routine with fans.
The EastEnders actress who won the 2021 series of Strictly with her pro-dancing partner Giovanni Pernice wished her followers a Happy Christmas as she splashed around in the sea.
The 28-year-old took a dip in the freezing-cold water on Christmas morning as she filmed her sea swim.
Rose looked super cheerful as she sported a black wetsuit on the sand before throwing herself into the crashing waves.
As other celebs enjoyed a cosy morning with their loved-ones indoors, Rose braved the chilly waters with a huge smile following her crazy year.
Rose is the first ever deaf person to appear on the hit BBC competition.
The actress also shared a Christmas Eve post from her family home as she revealed how excited she was to eat everything in sight over the festive season.
Rose showed off her natural beauty in the gorgeous photo.
Posing with a delicious cream cake, she penned: “Christmas is a perfect time to eat – a lot. Merry Christmas eve.”
The social media posts come after Rose and Giovanni lifted the Glitterball trophy on the BBC One show.
Last week, the pair opened up about their win to BBC Breakfast hosts Dan Walker and Sally Nugent.
Proud pro dancer Giovanni said: “Every week has been a challenge for us but it’s been phenomenal.
He continued: “I think it’s been a fantastic journey from the beginning, we put out there a big, big, statement. It’s nice to win the show but I think we managed to build a statement that is important to Rose and the deaf community. We proved everything is possible.
“I’m beyond proud to be part of this journey with Rose I always say from day one it’s been my privilege to help Rose with this journey. When she came to the show she was really focused to send a message out there.”
Rose revealed during the interview how excited she is to return to her day job on EastEnders and how pleased she was to show deaf representation to viewers across the country.
Rose said: “I think it’s so lovely because I didn’t have that growing up. I didn’t have anyone to look up to. But it’s important to inspire people to think about what they’re doing and to change their perception so when a deaf person comes for a job interview they don’t have to panic or freak out.
“It’s about making it accessible. I’m very excited and looking forward to seeing what happens next and to carry on.”
