Royal biographer asks if Harry wants to 'destroy his family' amid new book deal

Prince Harry will share “mistakes and lessons learned” in a memoir to be published next year.

The Duke of Sussex has signed a publishing deal and will be writing his own book about his life – from his time in the palace to his move to Hollywood with Meghan Markle.

The deal was announced by Penguin Random House, with publication expected in late 2022.

Prince Harry said: “I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become.”

Today on Good Morning Britain, Duncan Larcombe discussed the revelation that Prince Harry will be releasing a book.

Royal biographer Duncan Larcombe said: “The Royal Family will be extremely concerned about how far Harry is actually prepared to go.”

Duncan chatted to Susanna Reid and Ben Shepherd this morning.

While speculating how the family will react to the prince’s memoir, the biographer said: “Will Harry give his own family the right of reply?

“This is something that the Royals need like a hole in the head.”

GMB posted a clip from their interview with Duncan, where a flurry of fans flocked to the comments to discuss the prince’s new venture.

In response to the clip posted on Twitter, one viewer said: “He’d sell his soul to the devil if it meant it’d keep him on the front pages. He might give the proceeds of the book to charity, but it’ll be worth it because he’ll be all over the news and be able to make more money”

Another tweeted: “I’ve always liked Prince Harry for his love of life, but after the Oprah and James Cordan interview he’s going from bad to worse. Yes write a book if he feel he needs to but Christ Almighty leave our Monarchy alone !! The Queen is 95 and doesn’t need all this hostility”

A third said: “Boring. Prince Harry has become utterly irrelevant now. He had a purpose and structure in the Royal family. Now just another Hollywood type.”

Trisha Goddard and Angela Levin also appeared on the show to discuss Harry’s new book, with the pair divided in opinion.

Angela Levin, Royal Biographer said: “I think that if it’s going to be intimate like he says, I feel he risks looking like a traitor to the royal family?

“Does he want to destroy his family? Does he feel so vengeful that he has to take another knock after Oprah and after Finding Freedom?

“Why is he so negative about his past? He can’t leave it alone.”

Trisha then chimed in, defending the Royal-turned-Hollywood-couple.

“Everybody’s autobiography is their own truth,” Trisha said.

“Angela has a somewhat simplistic view of what relationships are,

“You can absolutely love and adore somebody and criticise something about their past,

“As Prince Charles loved and adored his father, but also has criticised his family about sending him to Gordonstones.”
