Britain’s Got Talent boss Simon Cowell is planning to launch a children’s cartoon TV series.
The music and telly mogul, 61, is a huge fan of the genre and still watches The Flintstones and Scooby-Doo at home.
Now he wants to turn the kids’ books he has created with his son Eric, seven – called Wishfits – into an animated series.
The books feature hybrid animals such as Snogs, Frogephants, Shigers, and Chimpan-poos.
Cowell thinks they are ideal for a cartoon series.
He said: “You can have half a dog and half a snail which is called a Snog.
“So we are now writing children’s books which we hope to make into a TV series.”

Cowell – the man behind X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent – says his dream is for Eric to take over his “empire”.
But he adds: “He’s a little bit young at the moment, at seven.”
Simon welcomed Eric with his partner Lauren Silverman on February 14, 2014.
He has regularly expressed his desire to involve his son in his business ventures despite his young age.
His move into children’s TV comes after it was confirmed in July that his talent-finding series The X Factor has been given the axe after 17 years.

The hit TV series helped to discover and shape the careers of some of the most successful pop acts of recent years including One Direction, Little Mix, and Olly Murs.
At the time a TV source said: “The show began in 2004 and was a huge show and a massive format for ITV for over a decade.

“But in truth the last few years it has struggled and no new judge or tweak in format has helped. Ratings have got lower and lower and bringing it back is seen as too big a risk.”
An ITV spokesman confirmed in a statement: “There are no current plans for the next series of The X Factor at this stage.”
Reports do however suggest that Simon is hopeful of bringing Britain’s Got Talent back to our screens in 2022.
