Strictly's Nadiya says Dan has 'taught her things' she 'can't talk about on TV'

Strictly Come Dancing’s Nadiya Bychkova often sets pulses racing on the show, and she joined celeb partner Dan Walker on BBC Breakfast and said he’s taught her “things she can’t talk about on TV.”

The stunning blonde, 28, joined Dan and Sally Nugent on Tuesday to talk about Dan’s progress on the show so far after receiving their highest score yet for a Viennese waltz on Saturday night.

Dan’s co-host Sally was finding out more about the pair’s partnership, asking what they had learned from each other.

“I’ve got a question for you. What are you learning from him?” asked Sally, after joking that she learns things from Dan that she can’t repeat.

Nadiya praised Dan hugely: “I learn everyday, something new from him, one of the things is confidence.”

She continued: “I think that’s why I really understand him because I feel really comfortable on the dance floor when I’m dancing – I don’t need to talk, but when I’m in front of the cameras I feel like he does on the dance floor.

Ukrainian-Slovenian Nadiya said he’s helped with her communication skills too: “He was teaching me that even if maybe I don’t really understand the language or question, it’s okay to ask one more time.

“He taught me I can a second, slow down. I’m lucky now because I do have him by my side every time I need to speak,” she explained.

Nadiya smiled saying he’s also taught her “things which we can’t really talk about on TV. He’s just an amazing man.”

Dan was surprised by all of the praise and seemed taken aback, as he joked: “Someone insult me. Come on!”

Earlier in the show Joanna Lumley had called him handsome, and now he was being showered with kind words and didn’t know where to look.

Sally changed the subject, saying Nadiya can reveal the next dance and theme they’re doing for Halloween.

“It’s something very, very different, right?” teased Nadiya. “It’s a jive. Okay. Wait for it. You know it’s a very special weekend Strictly so we have to dress up… both of us will be lobsters” announced Nadiya.

Dan’s jaw dropped: “Lobsters? Full sized lobsters?” “Full sized lobsters! On the dance floor!” crowed Nadiya, as Dan asked to hear some of the music they would be dancing to.

She said she had to tell Dan to stop bouncing during training for the Viennese Waltz, and says he now needs that rhythm back for the Jive.

“When I was in that sort of intimate emotional space last week, this is a million miles away! If you’ve ever wondered what a 6 foot 6 lobster looks like, now’s your chance.”

Fans are in for a treat.
