Strictly Come Dancing has crowned its latest champions, with EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis and professional dancing partner Giovanni Pernice walking away with the coveted glitterball trophy.
That’s not all they’ll walk away with though, as it is reported that the celebrity winner of Strictly will also receive a huge £100,000.
It is one of the huge salaries that the Strictly stars earn from their appearances on the series, in addition to their participation on the Strictly tour and other deals outside of the show.
Daily Star takes a look at some of Strictly’s stars and their estimated earnings – from huge pay rises, to beauty endorsements and brand collaborations.
The celebrities
Each of the celebrities who takes part in Strictly Come Dancing earns a flat fee of £25,000, but if they get further in the competition, their earnings could be substantially more.
If they make it to week five, their earnings increase to £40,000 and semi-finalists are paid an estimated £75,000.
However, if the celebrity dances their way to the top of the leader board and wins the competition, not only do they walk away with the coveted glitterball trophy, but they’ll also scoop a massive £100,000.
In addition, the show can also lead to further earnings outside of the programme, with many of the stars taking part in the Strictly tour, which can earn them an extra £35,000.
Previous winners have also gone on to increase their earnings outside of the show in their own careers, with 2020 winner Bill Bailey taking to the stage at Latitude Festival and performing a residency at London’s Royal Opera House after dancing to glory on the series.
The professional dancers
Depending on how long the professional dancers have appeared on the show, it has been reported that they can earn anything between £30,000 – £50,000 per series, but this has never been confirmed by the BBC.
Some of the stars have also increased their earnings outside of the show, including Gorka Marquez, who earned £35,000 for his participation in the Strictly tour, according to The Mirror.
However, The Express reported that Oti Mabuse is one of the highest earning professional dancers, thanks to her participation on the show, on the Strictly tour and through her social media following, from which she reportedly earns over £2,340 per Instagram post.
She has also appeared as a judge on Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK and was a panellist on ITV show The Masked Dancer.
In total, it is estimated that Oti has an annual salary of over £410,000 per year, making her the highest earning professional dancer.
Claudia Winkleman
After hosting Strictly: It takes two, Claudia Winkleman took over from the late Bruce Forsyth to host Strictly Come Dancing alongside Tess Daly, earning £350,000 per show.
Along with presenting a Sunday morning show on BBC Radio 2, Claudia is also the face of hair brand Head and Shoulders and in 2019, launched a make-up brand called Full Panda in collaboration with Boots.
Together, her presenting and brand collaborations have earned the presenter a huge estimated net worth of £8.74 million.
Tess Daly
Similarly to her Strictly co-host Claudia, Tess Daly also earns £350,000 per series, in addition to her brand collaborations with companies such as Wellwoman and previous endorsement deals with L’Oreal and Pandora.
Her modelling and brand endorsement deals are reported to net the star a huge £750,000 each year too.
In total, the presenter is estimated to be worth over £3 million.
Shirley Ballas
When Shirley Ballas joined Strictly Come Dancing in 2017, the judge was reported to be paid £180,000 for the series.
However since then, her pay for Strictly has risen to a huge £500,000, according to a report in The Express – that’s a massive £320,000 pay rise.
In addition to the popular dancing competition, Shirley is also a talented performer herself and can be regularly found performing on stage in productions, such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Assembly Theatre in 2021.
In total, it is estimated that from her work on Strictly and performances in theatre productions, her net worth is £3.7 million.
Craig Revel Horwood
One of the original Strictly Come Dancing judges, Craig Revel Horwood has reportedly earned £200,000 for each appearance on the series.
In a 2009 interview with The Financial Times, Craig said: “Strictly has changed my life financially,” adding, “my assets and turnover are worth more than £1m, but I don’t have any plans to slow down.”
He certainly hasn’t slowed down, as he has also brought his skills to the Strictly tour, which he has directed since 2012 and has also directed theatre productions such as Sister Act, earning him an extra £200,000.
Along with performing onstage himself in roles such as Mrs Hannigan in Annie, the judge is estimated to be worth over £1 million.
Motsi Mabuse
Motsi Mabuse joined the Strictly judging panel in 2019 and is reported to earn around £200,000 per series.
She has also featured on the German version of Strictly Come Dancing, called Let’s Dance, as a judge since 2011, as well as performing as professional dancer and running her own dance school, earning a reported total of £350,000 per year.
However, although there are varying reports regarding her total net worth, a report in Entertainment Daily estimated that her total net worth is around £8.5 million through her professional dance work throughout the years.
Anton Du Beke
Anton Du Beke has had a huge pay rise on Strictly Come Dancing since moving from Professional Dancer to a member of the Judging panel.
Having earned £65,000 per series a professional dancer, he has now more than doubled that, earning £120,000 per series as a judge instead.
Although he doesn’t take part in the Strictly tours, he does perform at Alton Tower’s Dancing with the Stars weekend, earning a further £12,000, in addition to tours with dancing partner Erin Boag.
In total, the star is said to have a net worth of £8million according to Celebrity Net Worth.
