Susanna Reid fends off dress criticism as Holly Willoughby leaps to her defence

Susanna Reid has fended off recent backlash after her cleavage became a talking point last week.

The 50-year-old bombshell, opted for an eye-popping emerald green dress, with a plunging V neckline.

While on air, Twitter was sent into a frenzy with the TV presenter’s low cut frock raising quite a few eyebrows amongst some GMB viewers.

Defending her choice of attire, unapologetic Susanna hit back with a splash of sarcasm, saying: “Shocker, woman has cleavage.”

After her dress caused a stir on social media, the ITV host decided to share a “covered up” version of herself in the leopard green dress, as she took to social media to blast those who critiqued her ensemble.

Taking to her official Instagram page, the journalist shared a side-by-side image of herself, telling her 548,000 fans: “Shocker! Woman has cleavage.

“Realised it’s still before the watershed so here’s a nice covered up version.

“Yesterday’s green dress @nobodyschild.”

Susanna’s outburst was met with a wealth of praise from her adoring followers, including This Morning host Holly Willoughby who wanted to share her thoughts on the matter.

Defending Susanna, Holly fumed: “Wear what you want! If people have a problem then I’m concerned for them.”

The blonde presenter subtly followed up with: “I’m loving your outfits recently though. You look absolutely beautiful.”

When it comes to outfit criticism Holly is also no stranger to the odd complaint herself, in fact, only last week Ofcom were flooded with complaints about her own plunging dress.

While some fans of the show loved Holly’s floaty salmon-coloured embellished frocks, other viewers were unimpressed with her choice of attire, saying that it wasn’t appropriate for family TV show, Dancing on Ice.

Similarly to Susanne, on the night of the show, social media was ablaze with commentary concerning Holly’s outfit choice.

One person fumed: “Does Holly realise this is a family show?”

A second tweet read: “Holly put them away,” while another exclaimed: “Holly is half undressed.”

Dancing on Ice racked up an astounding 341 complaints following the launch, which included some made about Holly’s dress, Rufus hound verbally attacking the Tory government over school meals and the Covid-secure setup.
