Unforgotten star Sanjeev Bhaskar learnt how to be British by watching Sir Roger Moore in Live And Let Die.
The actor, 57, grew up in Ealing, west London when his parents came to the UK from India.
And he said: “My Britishness has been defined by Roger Moore. Everything about it, he made it look easy, he made it look fun.
“He was handsome, that wonderful voice, debonair and all the things that I had been told was Britishness. These were constituents.”
The actor became friends with Sir Rog before his death aged 89 in 2017.
Sanjeev said: “One of the reasons I got involved with Unicef was because of the conversations I’ve had with Roger.
“He was somebody I was besotted with as a child and incredibly became friends with as an adult.
“I said to him once: ‘Roger did I tell you that Live And Let Die was the first Bond film I ever went to see in the cinema?’
“It was in the days of continuous programming so you could sit there for the whole day on a ticket – so I just sat there and watched the whole film twice.
“I told him: ‘I thought you were amazing and the film was incredible. I sat there twice.’
“And he paused for a second and he said: ‘You owe me £4.50.’ It was great.”

Series four of Unforgotten kicked off earlier this year, with Sanjeev playing the formidable DI Sunny Khan.
Debuting in 2015, the gritty drama follows two London detectives who solve cold cases, getting to the bottom of some of the city’s most mysterious crimes.
Sanjeev stars alongside the Last Tango In Halifax star Nicola Walker, who plays his crime-busting partner DCI Cassie Stuart in the series.
