Will Mellor recently spoke about his desire for a Two Pints reunion, similar to the Friends reunion special released late last month.
Starring in the show from 2001 to 2011, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps propelled Will and his cast mates, including Sheridan Smith, to stardom as the sitcom grew in viewers.
Speaking to The Mirror, Will said: “I saw that Friends thing the other day and I thought we could have done something like that – talk about the old days, show some clips for fans of the show – but, to be honest, some of the people I don’t speak to any more.
“I’ve not seen Sheridan or spoke to Sheridan in four years. I rang her for a while and just nothing, so I don’t know her any more.
“I wish her all the best, but she hasn’t called me in years.”
Just over a week ago Sheridan had spoken about her own interest in a reunion episode, having been asked about the possibility by Metro.
Speaking to the publication, she said: “I mean that would be brilliant, Gavin and Stacey did their special which I thought was brilliant, we might end up getting the Two Pints gang back together, I certainly wouldn’t rule that out one day if everyone’s schedules worked out.”
Speaking fondly about her time on the show, Sheridan discussed how it became their “university years” and how she would like to know where the character of Janet ended up.
She said: “It was a great part of my life, and I guess most people have their university years where they go away and do that but our Two Pints days were like the university years.
“We all got really close – we were in it for nine years so it was a big part of my life. Definitely don’t rule out that there would be a reunion one day, although it would be weird because we are all so much older.
“It would be quite funny to see where Janet ended up. She’d probably have about 20 kids or something, still in the pub!”
