Adele skipped glitzy BRITs after-party for a McDonald's and invited Maya Jama

Adele skipped the BRITs after-party to go for a McDonald’s – and invited Maya Jama along.

The Rolling In The Deep singer attended the glitzy awards ceremony in London – where she scooped three gongs – but said she was giving the party a miss this year.

As she was interviewed by Maya on the red carpet, she admitted her night would consist of a trip to the golden arches for a burger and possibly some white wine back at her flat.

Maya had asked the star if she would be heading to the post-ceremony bash, saying: “BRITs is the party isn’t it?”

Adele replied to the presenter: “Yes it is but no, I’m going straight back to my flat. I’m going to get a McDonalds.”

Maya looked envious at the prospect and asked: “Oh my God can I join you for one of those?”

“One hundred percent,” said Adele. “Might open a bottle of white wine.”

“Oh, I would love that,” Maya replied.

Adele, who was speaking ahead of the gongs being dished out, also shared that she still battled a few butterflies about awards ceremonies.

“I sort of block out a little bit with awards ceremonies, otherwise my nerves would really get the better of me,” she said.

“I still feel a bit silly coming to these things,” she confessed.

The singer, 33, also revealed she doesn’t write acceptance speeches in advance because she thinks that’s a bit “cocky”.

“It’s like you are going to win,” she said.

“I hope I win one but I don’t think that, you know, that you are always going to win all of them.”

Adele went on to take home three top prizes at the awards best artist, album and song of the year for Easy On Me.
