This Morning hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary discussed the recent defamation case between Johnny Depp and his ex-wife, Amber Heard.
The former couple were at loggerheads after the Pirates of the Caribbean actor took the Aquaman star to court in Fairfax, Virginia, claiming she defamed him in a 2018 opinion piece published by The Washington Post.
A jury ruled in favour of Johnny and Amber was ordered to pay £12 million in costs to her ex.
Speaking on ITV’s This Morning, an expert has hinted at what could be next for Amber after sources claimed her career could take a rapid decline.
Speaking from Los Angeles, Sam said: “Wil Johnny Depp resume his film acting career before I think it was not at all probable.
“Now, I would describe it as remotely possible.”
He continued: “As for Amber Heard, I think it’s going to be very, very difficult to pick up from here.
“Does she resume her life as an actress? It seems unlikely, could she become an advocate a spokesperson of some sort?
“I think parallel to Monica Lewinsky here in the States, I think that’s possible.”
Depp won the case on June 1 and discovered the news while out on a night out in Newcastle with Geordie sensation Sam Fender and his pal Jeff Beck, who he is currently touring with.
Speaking after the verdict, Johnny took to social media issuing a statement saying his life changed after Amber published the article, six years ago.
He said: “Six years later, the jury gave me my life back. I am truly humbled.
“My decision to pursue this case, knowing very well the height of the legal hurdles that I would be facing and the inevitable, worldwide spectacle into my life, was only made after considerable thought.
“From the very beginning, the goal of bringing this case was to reveal the truth, regardless of the outcome. Speaking the truth was something I owed to my children and to all those who have remained steadfast in their support of me.
“I feel at peace knowing I have finally accomplished that.”
He added: “I am, and have been, overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and the colossal support and kindness of those around the world.
“I hope that my quest to have the truth be told will have helped others, men or women, who have found themselves in my situation, and that those supporting them never give up.
“I also hope that the position will now return to innocent until proven guilty, both within the courts and in the media.”
