The Geordie duo joked that they would have to take part in the camp’s challenges if more celebs didn’t take part.

Babatunde was the first celebrity to back out of an I’m A Celeb challenge as he tried to walk a plank at the top of a huge building in Australia during the first episode.

The comedian took part in the first challenge of the show which saw the actor walk a plank over a sky scraper along with TV presenter Charlene White and footballer Jill Scott.

However, he barely managed to make it halfway over the side of the building before he cried the first “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here!” of the series.

Before it had started, a nervous Babatunde, 36, joked: “It’s windy, that’s contributing to the water in my eyes…”

Charlene was up first and walked bit by bit to the end of the plank. She was waiting for Babatunde to reach the end next.

He attempted to urge himself on, telling himself, “Just go! Just go!” but instead said “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!”

Charlene then had to wait for Jill to get to the end before they could both lean forward. They completed the 60 seconds and both let go of the rope to complete the task and therefore earned two stars for camp.

Afterwards, Charlene admitted: “It’s going to take me a long time to process it.”
