BBC Breakfast presenter Jon Kay had a special end-of-year announcement for viewers on Wednesday (December 21) right after he came off air.
The BBC star took to Twitter to reveal that he’d just finished presenting his last programme of BBC Breakfast together with co-host Sally Nugent before they broke up for Christmas.
Jon decided to share a sweet snap from the Breakfast studio which showed him smiling with Sally in front of a dazzling decorated Christmas tree.

Jon looked dapper in a navy suit and a purple tie, and Sally looked glam as ever in a red suit blazer and matching striped top.
He wrote: “Our last programme together before Christmas. What a year it’s been!”
“Thanks so much for joining @sallynugent and me at the start of the week. The #BBCBreakfast team is here for you EVERY day over the holidays. Have a wonderful time.”
Jon’s co-stars and viewers wished him a merry Christmas in the comments below.
BBC Breakfast weather star Matt Taylor wrote: “Big Christmas love to you both… Have a wonderful Christmas and see you in the New Year x”
One fan commented: “Loved you both on Breakfast relaxed but serious when you have to be. Merry Christmas. Have a good break.”
A second said: “The dream team with such great chemistry. Long may your double act continue!”
A third penned: “You are a great team. Happy Christmas”
But Jon and Sally’s final BBC Breakfast show for the year didn’t go off without a hitch or two.
The pair had to cut off an interview with a guest, General Secretary of Unite the Union Sharon Graham, due to technical issues.
The trade unionist slammed the Secretary of State Steve Barclay at the start of her interview, saying: “Every time the Health Secretary speaks, I’ve got my head in my hands because I don’t think he knows what he’s talking about.”
But the sound became muffled to the point where no one could be heard, so Sally had to break it to viewers that the interview couldn’t go on.

Sally said: “Really unfortunately, because that was such an important interview, we’ve got a problem with that microphone. So apologies there for the technical problems.”
Jon Kay was made a permanent host on Breakfast in July, replacing previous host Dan Walker who left the broadcaster for Channel 5 in May.
