BGT's jaw-dropping transformations – Susan Boyle makeover, BBC show fame and racy snaps

Britain’s Got Talent has been a staple piece of Saturday night TV since it first aired on June 9, 2007, entertaining millions.

15 years after the programme first burst onto British screens, it’s seen an array of hopefuls take to the famous stage hoping to land a spot at the prestigious Royal Variety Performance.

With previous contestants including Stavros Flatley and Paul Potts leaving viewers speechless, it’s no surprise that fans are still following them on social media.

Daily Star has trawled through the archives and social media to bring you Britain’s Got Talent’s biggest transformations from over the years.

Susan Boyle

Susan or SuBo to some is arguably Britain’s Got Talent’s stand out contestant.

The Scottish native had the judges in stitches with her quick wit during her 2008 audition after saying she wanted to be “as successful as Elaine Paige.”

However, once she opened her mouth, everybody was left collecting their jaws up from the floor, with Amanda Holden saying it was the “biggest wake-up call ever,” after an initial cynical attitude towards Susan.

13 years after finding fame, Susan has ditched her frizzy hair and instead looks every inch the superstar she is.

The 61-year-old can often be seen donning sparkly floor-length gowns and hair styled to perfection and looks worlds apart from the shy aspiring singer she first appeared as on screens.

Susan has gone on to sell over 25 million records across the globe and released eight studio albums.

Aiden Davies

Birmingham-born Aiden, 25, first appeared in front of the judges in 2009, showcasing his epic dance skills.

He reached the final of series three of the programme after bursting onto the stage with a performance of Flo Rida’s Low.

At his first audition, Simon Cowell told Aiden: “I think you’re better than any dancer on this show, you are super, super, super talented.”

Despite never having a dance lesson before finding fame, Aiden came fifth in the show.

After leaving the programme, Aiden has gone on to have a star-studded career, performing alongside Alesha Dixon, the Sugababes and Peter Andre at Rock with Laughter in December 2009.

He went on to present CBBC’s Friday Download with Dionne Bromfield, Ceallach Spellman and Shannon Flynn.

Nowadays, Aiden looks completely different and frequently shares gym updates across social media, showcasing his ripped physique and bulging muscles.

Connie Talbot

Connie impressed Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden when she entered the programme in 2007 before eventually being placed as the runner up.

Now, aged 21, Connie looks every inch the star, sharing glam snaps to her adoring 301,000 Instagram followers.

After the competition finished, the youngster was initially signed to Simon’s record label.

She toured in Asia and released two Christmas albums, Connie Talbot’s Christmas Album and Connie Talbot’s Holiday Magic.

In 2019, she made her big return to Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions, where she sang an original song and won rave reviews from the judges – but did not make it to the semi-finals of the competition.

Connie’s glamourous snaps of her travels across the globe as she still records music for her fans but her latest album was released in 2016.

Stavros Flatley

Father and son duo Stavros Flatley had everybody in fits of laughter as they danced across the stage.

The North London duo consisting of Demetrios and son Michalakis ‘Lagi’ Andreas formed their group after practising their routines in the family’s Greek restaurant.

After reaching the final of season three, the pair finished fourth behind Julian Smith, Diversity and Susan Boyle.

Since finding fame on the programme, Demetrios and Michalakis have gone on to appear on several spin-offs including Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions and Britian’s Got Talent Christmas Spectacular in 2020.

Nowadays though, they’ve ditched their blonde wigs with Lagi now sporting a thick beard and countless tattoos, including the map of Cyprus that his dad showcased on BGT.

Lagi, now 25, is a proud father of one after welcoming his daughter with fiancée Annika Crawford.

He now resides in Cyprus, where he has opened his own barbershop but his dad is continuing the act with his nephew Samson.

Molly Rainford

Singer Molly entered Britain’s Got Talent 11 years ago, aged just 11 and looks completely unrecognisable.

She went on to steal the hearts of the nation after belting out Ave Maria for the famous judges and a packed theatre audience before getting through to the live shows.

Sadly, Molly placed sixth in the show, while dog act Ashley and Pudsey went on to take the top spot.

This hasn’t stopped her from chasing her dream though, with Molly going to music college and continuing to release music.

Most recently, she appeared on CBBC’s Nova Jones, playing an intergalactic pop star.

But she thinks entering the music business now would be utterly terrifying.

She told Daily Star: “The beauty of doing the show so young is I had no fear then, if I tried to do all that stuff now I’d probably be just as scared. Maybe because I was 11, I didn’t really know how big it was.

“I think maybe that was a blessing in disguise.”

While “being a pop star” is her dream, she says appearing on CBBC is “so much fun”.

Bailey McConnell

Aged just 14, Bailey McConnell braved the famous judges and performed his own song about a close friend that turned on him, named Dying Hole.

Amanda Holden exclaimed that his audition was “incredible”, with Bailey also impressing David Walliams.

The fresh-faced teen sailed through to the semi-finals, performing his own music, with Alesha Dixon saying she knew Bailey was “already an artist” at such a young age.

However, Bailey lost out on a place in the final with Amanda, Alesha and David all choosing to save Paddy and Nico.

After leaving the programme, Bailey went on to reveal that he and the pal he wrote Dying Hole about had since made up, with the unknown friend “always” knowing the song was about them.

Most recently, Bailey has released new music for his fans with his single Scars out now.

While he’s remained tight-lipped about future projects, he has teased he’s “got something coming,” for his most loyal fans.

Natalie Okri

Natalie had everybody blown away when she performed her rendition of No One by Alicia Keys back in 2009.

Judges Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Kelly Brook were initially at a loss for words before Piers exclaimed: “You are a very, very little girl with a very, very big voice, you really are and I loved it, I thought you were terrific.”

Unfortunately, Natalie was eliminated before the final, losing out to Susan Boyle and Diversity.

13 years after appearing on the programme, Natalie has recently graduated from university, telling her Instagram followers: “I give thanks to God that I made it to the end of university with a 2:1 while juggling music.”

Last year, she performed to a sold-out crowd at The Ritzy in Brixton, south London, delighting her fans.

Proving her love for music has not ended, her latest single Roll With Me featuring Sneakbo and Ramz is available on Spotify and major streaming platforms.
