Coleen Nolan’s son Shane Nolan has sparked outrage with his comments about BBC’s coverage following the Queen’s death.
The 33-year-old said that he “doesn’t understand” why there is rolling news coverage on Queen Elizabeth II’s passing and why EastEnders hasn’t been airing.
Shane took to the social media platform on Tuesday (September 13) to ask when the BBC One soap will be airing as he wants to watch his dad Shane Richie reprise the role of Alfie Moon.

Shane took to Twitter to say: “I did love the queen, what a woman. I just don’t understand following the coffin around with cameras everywhere and all over TV all day.
“Now I know I know some people will be well into it and that’s fine but can anyone tell me what time @bbceastenders is on tonight. #alfiesback.”
His comments sparked a mixed reaction from followers.
Some people took to the comments section to share their anger with his comment.
One said: “Absolutely disrespectful after all the Queen did over the years for the country I’d rather watch her safe arrival on her final journeys rather than EastEnders.”
A second wrote: “I don’t understand the cameras following your mother everywhere either, but someone somewhere thinks the public want to see it.”
While a third penned: “EastEnders on every week our wonderful queen needs the respect she deserves so I’m all for following what’s happening it’s history.
“Catch up was invented for occasions like this.”
Other fans wrote: “No respect” and “We’ve had to endure years of Shane Richie being all over TV all day.”
However some fans agreed with Shane.
One wrote: “its kind of full on mourning, have to say, despite my love and respect for our Queen, I had to turn everything off yesterday and just get some time out.”
A second said: “I agree. It’s like the circus has come to town. And how is that respect mobile phones everywhere they turn. Let them grieve in private. I think they have had to do this to try and save the monarchy.”

Shane Richie returned to Walford as Alfie Moon on Tuesday as he attempted to stop his ex-wife Kat Slater from marrying Phil Mitchell.
Due to coverage surrounding The Queen’s death, this week EastEnders will be airing at 8:30pm on Wednesday and 7:30pm on Thursday on BBC One
